Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I am glad you don’t have Covid, Dana!
I don’t think I commented but that drive sounded like hell, meara.
Happy New Year Buffistas!
I had the worlds most boring two weeks off- I didn’t do anything I meant to, drank too much wine, and crocheted and listened to podcasts. But I still don’t want to go back to work because I will have to face the Covid 19 booster shitshow and so much work. Unfortunately my reaction to too much work is often a freeze response and I just spin helplessly.
Yay, no Covid and 20 year blinvisible friends.
Quiet day here. And gray. Sitting in front of my happy light at the moment. I think we'll take a walk later -- it's supposed to be mid-60s.
10 days past our Christmas gathering and not a symptom in sight, so I guess I didn't catch the 'Rona. (I've held off testing in the absence of symptoms, just kept my distance and masked up.)
A round of No 'Rona for my friends!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed they don't close the schools or go back to online for a few weeks.
At the same time, I'm thinking of rescheduling some things from next week to a few weeks out, as I'm hoping for the quick surge/quick slope to Omicron rollercoaster.
Hmmm, I'm really craving poached eggs over hash this morning but not sure what I've got that's I can make a decent hash out of. "I'll make a hash of it!" implies that fucking it up is the proper approach so maybe I'll root around in the crisper.
Happy gnu ears all!
I also skippy-skipped through a bunch of posts, but enough to feel fairly caught up. Gonna do better in 2022!
I watched Consuela's off-road towing video, which was wonderful -- nice to see a dicey situation resolved with attention to safety. Reminds me of a guy I know who retired from the Navy to become a backcountry EMT -- his wife remarked that while he was an adrenaline junkie, at least he channelled it in a useful manner.
At work (assisted living) we've had a couple Covid cases, including two direct coworkers of mine who had to go home to quarantine in the middle of Thursday! We're testing twice a week until there are no new cases.
Good news: I made that hash.
Today seems to want to be particularly dreary. It's that post-holiday hangover times the Sunday before work.
Happy new year, all!
Good news, Dana! Apparently no one I was at church with on Christmas Eve has covid, which is amazing to me.
Timelies all!
Today it was grey and 60 degrees. It's supposed to start snowing tonight, and continue through the morning. Oh, goody.
Happy New Year, longtime peeps! I love you all (tempted to go into Bilbo speech rn, but I don't have the brainpower to recall correctly--madness). We have finally thawed and begun to melt out of the +/- foot of snow we've had just sitting around looking pretty since Christmas Eve. Of course higher temps are accompanied by 30mph winds gusting to 65mph, but hey, as long as it's not falling the mad monkey marimba band in my shower is quiet enough for me to sleep. Not having a job to go to means theoretically I can sleep anytime. Which right now my little bear-brain is interpreting as sleep alla time. Mmm sleep. I do note the daylight is increasing by the day, which, yay! Other than that, no news from here. Which, given the givens, is good.
