Kaylee: Is that him? Mal: That's the buffet table. Kaylee: Well how can we be sure, unless we question it?

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Midtown is still flakeless.

Ann, that's a ferret.

We have -- maybe an inch west of DC. But the heavy snowfalls are supposed to be farther west.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

The snow is starting now in NYC. The latest forecast says we’ll get 14 inches.

Jesus. Go big or go home.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

It was snowing fairly heavily in downtown DC earlier, but it's stopped. The snow didn't stick, but now it's raining and will probably freeze. oh joy

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I just about an inch here and it has stopped, but feels like it is getting colder and the weather says freezing rain.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I finished my MRI. My request to have additional pillows on top of the headphones and ear plugs to help with my anxiety wrt the noise went completely ignored. So now I’ll just be shaking in the corner for the rest of the night.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

No snow up in Westchester yet, but we're expecting 16 inches overnight.

Alright, these minor flurries are starting to stick - outta here.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

My sympathies to you and your family, sj. Sorry about the lack of additional soundproofing. I know what a difference that can make.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

sj, glad you got through the procedure anyway.

I'm shaking a little myself. I haven't yet received the usual renewed membership card for my health insurance plan, so I went to my employer's portal for benefits information, and found that the "future benefit elections" section only showed my HSA contribution, nothing about medical/dental/vision coverage.

I've spent all day trying not to panic at the thought that I might have screwed up my enrollment back in October. My treatment for prostate cancer is ongoing, and I recently started new oral meds and new chemotherapy as part of being enrolled in a clinical trial. Interruption of my healthcare payment plan would mess up all of that.

It took most of the day to get confirmation that my enrollment is okay after all. The details were indeed on the website I was looking at, but the path to the right page was not obvious.

Yep, still shaking.
