sj, glad you got through the procedure anyway.
I'm shaking a little myself. I haven't yet received the usual renewed membership card for my health insurance plan, so I went to my employer's portal for benefits information, and found that the "future benefit elections" section only showed my HSA contribution, nothing about medical/dental/vision coverage.
I've spent all day trying not to panic at the thought that I might have screwed up my enrollment back in October. My treatment for prostate cancer is ongoing, and I recently started new oral meds and new chemotherapy as part of being enrolled in a clinical trial. Interruption of my healthcare payment plan would mess up all of that.
It took most of the day to get confirmation that my enrollment is okay after all. The details were indeed on the website I was looking at, but the path to the right page was not obvious.
Yep, still shaking.
ugh that is just the worst, dcp. Glad you have coverage.
sj, sorry for the loss of your non-genetic uncle.
Just because it links on the term "MRI" - my son was shoulder-surfing me creating a character for Cyberpunk 2077 and as I selected the options for piercings and cyberware he said "So MRIs aren't a thing that happens in this future?"
The snow was beautiful up around Tysons, but only a dusting at my house to the south. Now it's gloppy rain.
sj, I'm so sorry about your uncle. I hope his wife gets better soon - I feel awful for her and all the kids and grandkids.
Ugh that’s the worst dcp—my employer screwed that up several times at the beginning of the year for some reason and had the insurance company saying I wasn’t covered! Yikes. Eventually mine worked out—glad yours did too!
I’m so sorry about your uncle sj.
Oh, geez, dcp, that would have had me in a panic, too. I'm so, so glad it worked out.
sj, what the hell? I'm so sorry they didn't accommodate your very simple requests. Good grief. MRIs are so freaking loud. In any case, I hope it gives them some useful information about your neck/arm.
Yeah, the snow was pretty here (Reston), but now it's just muck. I haven't been on a road today, but I don't imagine much stuck. Maybe icy, though.
I ran into a glitch with presents, realizing that I need some tissue paper, but I didn't feel like going out for it. So, I'll do that tomorrow, finish wrapping, and send the box off to GA. Will still get there in plenty of time, I'm sure.
Timelies all!
I'm sorry, sj.
After a couple of good days, Mr. S was awful today. (I wasn't home, but Gary told me what went on)

I'm a little envious of the East Coast snow. Normally I root against it, but since I don't have to deal with commuting myself or worrying about Alex's two-bus commute to his chosen alternative high school at the other end of town, it would be lovely and would break up the monotony. Plus, our quince tree barely produced any fruit this year, to the disappointment of everyone we gave quince jam to last year, and apparently it was due to the warm winter, so a little colder would be nice.
I'm sorry about your uncle and the MRI, sj. That's a real day of shit!
I am not looking forward the snow, especially because I'm afraid work snow days are cancelled forever now! I will be able to shovel tomorrow between 12-2 and then after 5, because otherwise I'm in meetings. So I'm hoping it actually does snow all day so I don't feel guilty.
