Wash: So, two days in a hospital? That's awful. Don't you just hate doctors? Simon: Hey. Wash: I mean, present company excluded. Jayne: Let's not be excluding people. That'd be rude.

Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

So, to catch up... I was reading JZ's catch up and thinking "Yes! Yes! That!"

Boo to me on taking so long to get caught up, yay to everyone on the various good newses--a new nanny! No new mets! Brendon getting serious about his health! Silver tree! Narrowly avoiding public NAFTA/NAFDA confusion embarrassment! Being an official New Yorker again! And hugs to askye, and I'm so, so glad you went in to see the doctor and your brain is being properly tended to and you are okayed for at least limited screen time again.

And then I got to

Not a lot to report from Chez Zmayhem, except that I may have had a run-in with a ghost:

And thought, "Agh! That too!"

So the packing and moving is, at long last, done. It wound up happening in two sections - which is fortunate because it turns out my new elevator (hooray!) is a poky little puppy and my couch bed did not fit in it. Oy.

On round two of packing/cleaning I was at the old house and I kept hearing someone in the next room. Now, the landlords live across the street and the former roommates might come by so that's not surprising - but then I'd walk into the room and find no one. Eventually I stopped checking.

Its a big old house and has lots of big old house noises, but I've been there for seven years (the last month all alone) and know them pretty well. This was none of those noises. Brand new noise. Maybe the house invented one to say "good-bye."

The new place is lovely and I guess the last tenants were there a long time because its all new - new appliances, cabinets, etc. and (best of all) NOT a new tub but the century old one reglazed. Its got lots of light, high ceilings, hard wood floors AND I AM NEVER MOVING AGAIN.

Oh, and whenever I see "Lets Go Brandon!" I think of Ross Geller's special way of giving the finger without giving the finger that he invented in the eighth grade and I laugh. Yeah, this lib is owned. [link]

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Waiting for my booster in the loudest CVS ever. It’s a little overwhelming.

OB/GYN appointment was fine, although I do have to go back in a few weeks for a biopsy for a thing that’s probably nothing, but worth checking.

I might stab someone if I don’t get my shot soon.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

The new place sounds like a sweet deal, Trudy! And, yes, maybe your old place was just saying goodbye in its creaky old way, the only way it has. Be grateful it isn't hiding your important treasures to keep you from leaving!

Thank you, Tom. You really do take good care of all of us, and I am immensely grateful.

Love to all of you, in whatever form you're most comfortable with.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

and (best of all) NOT a new tub but the century old one reglazed.

Worth its weight in mmmmmmm.

I miss my tub in San Diego so much.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

I miss my tub in San Diego so much.

Had a brief moment of, "Huh? My tub is lousy." Then remembered that your former neighborhood is probably 50-80 years older than mine and got jealous of your former tub sight unseen.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Yay for boosters!
