The only time I had a really nice bathtub it was in an apartment on the second floor that shook whenever a big truck went by. That made it really hard to relax and enjoy a bath. For some reason, when sitting on the couch it just felt like "oh, yeah, the building is shaking, like it does" but being in the tub felt like "the floor is about to collapse let me plummet to my death"
Eta: when I stay in a hotel and it has a really nice tub I really enjoy it

House was built in 1943 but it always felt a few decades older. I loved that place. The tub was one of the best features.

So actually only 30ish years older than my neighborhood, but they definitely didn't try as hard on the bathrooms by the 70s.

I would have guessed it was built in the thirties. Actually thought I *knew* that but Zillow proved my memory unreliable.
'70s bathroom were no match for thirty/forty years earlier.
I'm glad to see that the original door, kitchen tiling and bathroom haven't be 'upgraded.' Even the non-compliant and unusable fireplace is still there. But that tub... I loved the whole place but that tub was My Place.
