My sister doesn't seem to mind 14 hour drives. Anything over 3–4 for me means a plane ticket or a hard pass. Go, Laura's son! Way to be a sweetheart.
I've never shaved anything specifically for a gyn appointment. I shave my calves before pedicures, but that's just because the massage part feels better that way.
I LOVE your hair so much! I actually want to do something like that but with pink, but I really just don't want to have 1500 conversations about it at work with the other Admins who already think I'm a whackaloon weirdo.
My doctor's appointment went well, except for the part where I could not think of anything to say to the question "What do you like to do for fun?" Of course, it was during the pelvic exam, so I was also distracted. Also, why do they make you fill out an online questionnaire, and then ask you all the same questions? Are they checking my veracity?
Tomorrow-- mammogram!
I just want to weep. I feel like a bad person and I have had a perfectly miserable work day. Super vent rant ahead.
First work. The internet was totally stupid today. Disconnecting repeatedly. Slow as molasses when it would occasionally reconnect. Users calling, texting, and emailing me asking what is taking me so long to fix their completely non-urgent insignificant issues. I finally say screw it and leave to go fill my gas tank and pick up some stuff from the store and after my phone rings for the 4th time I pick it up. It is my sister. When I say I have been ignoring my phone because I am trying to drive and I am in foul humor because my internet has made me insane all day she proceeds to tell me how hers was like that yesterday and did I call Comcast because they can reset the modem. (and it just went down again while I am typing, but I will finish and post later) And I did reset my own damn modem a couple times already, and I WORK on tech support all day which requires access to my Cloud sessions and peoples servers. I am not using it for Facebook!!
Then the purpose of her call is to ask if I'll be able to fit her walker in my car. I don't have a large car. I am packing my clothes for 3-4 months, my 75 pound dog and her stuff, and my computer and work phone, and I thought I might bring some mangoes for my nephew. Now 2 days before I leave I find out I am also transporting my sister and her luggage. And now she wonders if her walker can fit. I just can't even. And I feel mean, but really the only way is if I mail my own things to NY because now they won't fit in my car.
I am in a seriously bad mood.
Yeah, Laura, that would be about the time I start trying to gnaw my own leg off to get out of that trap.
I have a number of snarky responses to Laura's sister, but none of them would be particularly helpful. I'm sorry she's making your travel plans more of a hassle than they need to be, Laura.
The part that super sucks is that I love the notion of her going with me the first leg of the trip and seeing her grandchildren in NC. But packing for a 3 month plus trip is complex enough already. She is flying back home, I am just dropping her, staying overnight and heading north in the morning on my own, with Zoe.
Any possibility of a roof carrier?
Edit: Numberslut of the Neighbor of the Beast!
Nice! I didn't notice the post number. Best thing today!
Actually Connie, a roof dealio isn't a bad idea. Then I could bring more stuff for me too. I'd love to bring a bunch of books I would rather have up there than here.
Roof carriers are great for bulky but relatively lightweight things. Like a walker. Though not for dogs.
I like to have the dog in the front seat. That way I can pack stuff on the floor in front and make a nice bed for her. She is way calmer on a long ride if she is up front and she doesn't bother the driver at all. When she is in back she whines and has her head on my shoulder. I have a strap thingy to hook up the the seat belt for her.
