Oh, I forgot to post this and I think it will be of interest to a few Bitches denizens. We had dinner with a some old friends this week. One of them has done some directing on Fargo. First, he said Noah Hawley is freaking genius, but also manages to be a good person to work for. Second, Carrie Coon is just as wonderful and warm and level-headed as you think she might be. Third, and this surprised him, Ewan McGregor is just a guy and not at all a movie star. Serious about his work, but offscreen he is a nice dude who likes to talk about his kids and motorcycles and stuff. No temperament or vanity, lots of charm and as interested in hanging with the crew as he is in the "talent." He said "After five minutes of talking to him, you even forget how handsome he is."
Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?
Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I'm thinking about hiring a professional organizer to help me get my apartment presentable. Between physical issues with picking stuff up, and my complete lack of any idea of how to make organization work, my apartment has been a mess for way too long. My mom hired someone to help with her house, and she thought it was really useful. (Though, considering that my old bedroom seems to have become the overflow storage room again, I'm not totally sure how much it helped, but it at least gave her a sense of how things should be organized.) And I also need some help just figuring out where to put stuff, since my apartment doesn't have much storage space, and what it does have is often in weird inaccessible places.
Thanks for the love you guys. You are my Tribe.

So cool! I'm loving Fargo a lot. And coincidentally I am staying at the exact motel in Pasadena that Carrie Coons' character did when she went to L.A.
Thanks scrappy! The news from the Fargo set makes it even more enjoyable to catch up on he backlog I've got DVR'd.
I had a suspicion about Ewan McGregor being a nice guy since I watched "Long Way Round". The Siberian highway system did not ruin his fu.
We're at Hedwig! And they upgraded our seats because there is no elevator.
Enjoy, sj!
My DH reserved WW Tixs from the wrong night, so we were unable to see it last night. He was mortified, but we're both stressed out over the move. Luckily, the friends we were with were completely cool about it. We had a nice dinner beforehand and will use the vouchers we got to go NEXT week. He's off to Spain until Thursday for a car launch.
I'm sorry about the mixup, Scrappy, but at least you'll get to see it next week.
Can you point me to where you told us about the new house? I've missed it, and can't seem to find it. Want to drool in envy and celebrate with you guys.
Glad your friends were cool, Scrappy. Things happen when we are overwhelmed.
Hil, an organizer sounds like a great idea.
How did you like Hedwig, sj? I have seen it a number of times in settings from a gay nightclub to a used bookstore to Broadway, and loved it pretty much every time.
Y'all, I need help on my homework. I'm drafting a business plan as part of a start up class that I'm doing and keep getting stalled out on market research. I haven't been able to find any industry info specifically geared to historic preservation; I emailed a couple of the trade nonprofits to see if they had info or resources to suggest, but they never responded (not surprising, really). I know that I probably need to combine information about a couple of sectors (one being home renovation) but my anxiety keeps taking over. Anyone have ideas? Librarians, oh my librarians?
