I'm kind of freaked out she doesn't have the best eating habits, actually they are pretty bad, and that worries me.
That's frustrating. I've been through that with my dad, who has never adhered to a "heart-healthy" diet. But he's also never seen a dietician, and if your mom is planning to do that, hopefully that will point her in the right direction.
Blah. Panic starting again. I'm so sick of this.
I hope you were able to get some rest last night, Hil.
ltc's doctor suggested she start using a pillow at night to prop her up because of her allergy cough that won't go away. So, yesterday we picked out a new pillowcase for her. She picked out one with little gold skulls!
One of us! I hope the pillow helps. I had horrible allergies when I was a kid. Good news is that I grew out of most of them and acupuncture got rid of the rest!
It's been helping a lot, along with finally convincing her to take her zarbees cough syrup without spitting it out on us.
And she just told me she wants a Vampirina party this year. So, I'm online getting stuff for that.
More boring doctor stuff...
Okay of the dozen or more things my PCP wanted me to get tested I am doing 4. Tomorrow morning a CT scan for a calcium score to see if my arteries are clogged, and an echo in the afternoon, boob squishing on Monday, and colon abuse on Tuesday. Then that is it. No more doctors for a year, which is after I am on Medicare. Assuming of course that all the tests show how awesomely healthy I am, which they will.
I am going to stop 100% adding salt to my food, and giving up eggs and cheese. We'll see how this helps my BP and cholesterol. I do love me some salt and live where I sweat tons every day, but my plan is to use other spices and green tabasco (my favorite) instead and see if it helps.
Ugh, I hate phone stuff. I got a Torrid order, and one of the items didn't fit. The packaging slip says, "free shipping for exchanges!" Which is cool, because I'd still like the item, just a size up. For exchanges you have to call.
We go through the situation, they have the item in my desired new size, and she asks, do you want me to put in the order for this, or do you want to send it back first? I didn't know what to say, so instead of asking what the difference was, I assumed I'd get charged and then refunded for the first option, so I opted to send it back first instead.
She says, ok, you're all set, and I ask, but what about the free shipping for exchanges? She sounds kind of confused, but says a label is being mailed to me. That sounds OK, I'd assume the postage is on this new label, but then she says, "Or just use the label on your packing slip," which does not have postage on it, since straight up returns don't cover postage to ship back.
So now I'm, like, freaking out about the whole thing.
Does anyone have experience with Torrid exchanges?
The landlord is doing some sort of repairs or something in the apartment upstairs. He also parked in the driveway in a way that makes it impossible for me to get my car out. (I don't have anywhere that I need to go, but it's still annoying. There's plenty of room for him to park without blocking me.)
OK, everything is put away and vacuumed and scrubbed to my satisfaction. The apartment is in a state where I would be comfortable having friends over, no question. But there have been other times when it's looked like this when he's thought it was awful.
