Willow: Something evil-crashed to earth in this. Then it broke out and slithered away to do badness. Giles: Well, in all fairness, we don't really know about the "slithered" part. Anya: No, no, I'm sure it frisked about like a fluffy lamb.

'Never Leave Me'

Spike's Bitches 49: As usual, I'm here to help you, and I... are you naked under there?

Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

sj, that sounds totally miserable. I hope you and TCG feel better soon.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I had another appointment with the hand surgeon this morning, because my trigger finger came back again, and he says that I need surgery (which is what I expected he'd say). It's a pretty minor surgery -- local anesthesia, about half an hour, a few stitches. But the earliest date that they could schedule the surgery was at the end of February, and the earliest date that they could schedule it that I could do it is in the middle of March. It's during spring break, which should probably be good, in terms of needing to rest for a couple days afterwards, but that means I've just got to live with this pain and lack of motion in my hand for another month and a half. It's already at the point where I don't feel safe doing much cooking, because I can't keep a solid grip on things, and my already messy handwriting has become pretty close to unreadable.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm sorry, Hil. That's a long time to have to wait.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

May the days speed by, and the healing after surgery go swiftly.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I'm sorry, Hil. How painful and just plain frustrating.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I had to look up "shotgun" - I think in the northeast we call those railroads. Would one of you need to walk through the other's bedroom to get to yours?

(Okay, Google says they are similar but not identical. But it also looks like regional differences in design map to the regional differences in jargon, so.)

Hil, that's a long time to wait. Does the dr know you don't feel safe cooking?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Hil, that sounds miserable, and it's terrible to have to wait that long. I'm sorry.

sj, that sounds totally miserable. I hope you and TCG feel better soon.

Thanks, it has been. We're both feeling better but beyond exhausted. We had ltc in bed by 7 last night and we were in bed by 8. The leak in the laundry room has been fixed, the mechanic is coming to pick up my car on Friday, and I have to pick up a new pair of glasses today because of course I lost mine. I would very much like next week to be uneventful and not cost us a ton of money.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

A shotgun shack is different from a railroad flat.

A shotgun is a small little freestanding house. But the room layout is similar where it just goes front to back.

They're usually shotgun doubles in NO. The idea is that you could aim a shotgun through the front door and shoot it out the back door because all the inner doorways line up. I liked the one I lived in, although I only shared it with DH, would have been a little trickier with a separate bedroom sort of roommate.

I hope next weekend is uneventful and costs you nothing out of the ordinary, sj. Good luck getting some rest.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I lived in a shotgun double in NO with a separate bedroom sort of roommate one year. I had to go through roommate's room (or go outside) to get from my bedroom to the kitchen, and he had the same options to get from his bedroom to the bathroom.

I think I had the better of that deal.
