Happy Birthday Suzi!
Tonight at the grocery store, the toddler of the man ahead of me in line got angry over being denied something and threw his shoe at the cashier's face. I'm pretty sure if I'd ever done anything like that I'd have been whisked out of public view faster than a Mossad target. Not sure whether to be supportive or judgmental of big camo-clad guy quietly telling kid to stop rather than aggressively curtailing behavior.
Man, that house looks great, but I worry about the condition of the floors. The rest of the woodwork looks lovely: why is there white wall-to-wall everywhere? Hmmm.
Yeah, I immediately wondered just how bad the floors would have to be to justify that (stained!) carpet everywhere rather than restoring the original hardwood. Also side-eyeing the plasticy 90s bathtub. That place calls out for claw foot tubs. The foyer and library look awesome above ground level, though.
I feel like the odds are decent that the people who chose that kitchen also chose wall-to-wall regardless of the condition of the floors. Source: Many hours of HGTV.
I'm in love with the sun room. I'll just note that I can do electrical work and carpentry. NSM plumbing.
DH is very accomplished with plumbing! Yes, I am in love with the place. Of course there is going to be a long list of stuff that needs to be done to a house over 100 years old. Same with every house I have ever owned. I want it!
The weather scares me since I have lived tropical for 37 years, but the first 20 of my life were survived in those temperatures. Carpets everywhere are probably more a factor of keeping toes warm than damaged floors. But no doubt the electric and plumbing are sketch. But fixable!!!

The listing has gone viral:

The paint detail pictures are really lovely.
Ideas needed. One of my practice managers has her birthday today. I am very fond of her and want to get something delivered. Not flowers or chocolate. I have no talent for good gift ideas.
That house is lovely. If Canadian citizenship comes with for me and my family, I will buy it!
I am looking at the Supreme Court and wondering is John Roberts would really sign the next Korematsu. (JR is a really good human being - I don't always agree with him, but he is good. Clarence Thomas is a terrible person and would sign Korematsu twice if he could.) I don't know that they are really 4-4 if the DOJ goes straight to them.
I don't think you can compare Trump's EO directly to Korematsu. As far as the case goes, I dunno, the President does have broad authority over immigration, but this order seems in violation of Hart-Celler given that there is no particular evidence of a real national security threat. I think it could go 5-3, 4-4, or 3-5 with John Roberts or Anthony Kennedy as the swing votes, but I think 4-4 or 3-5 would be the most likely and either way upholds the lower court.
So important though. I'm sure the strategy is to have this be the first step in a broader Muslim ban. It's not exactly three dimensional chess.
I'm starting to think that Ivanka needs to move into the WH and pull an Edith Wilson.
Before the election I'd suggested to someone that the family would have to sit himself down and have an intervention ... or find a nice place in the country where he couldn't do any harm.
And in regard to the escape room - we had a team-building exercise in mid-November at one of those places. I was really bad at it. However, I was the ONLY ONE who knew that the safe is always behiind a picture. Obviously, no one else read Agatha Christie.
