"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Thanks, Amy. I figured as much, and she is a little snuffly but not feverish. I just wanted a more experienced mother to tell me it was normal.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I did not pay my water bill. Not sure how I missed that, but now we have no water. awesome. DO I run to store for several gallons to force flush toilets and brush teeth and sink baths or do I admit this failure of adulthood to my parents and go spend the night.

Actually don't answer, I could not deal with the sighs and looks of failure. I will go buy water.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I swear, sj, there are months when Matilda has the metabolism of Spanish moss and seems to subsist on water and air. And then months where she needs the Hobbit meal schedule.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh, msbelle. Just a minor blip of adulthood!

I have been to the NPR Politics Podcast live! It was fun, and I think I'm going to have to listen again tomorrow to see if I can hear the edits. Domenico Montenaro seemed handsomer than he looks in pictures, for what that's worth.

Our wings are not tired.

Yep, both the extremes of children's eating habits and the ooops no water are normal parts of this life.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

These things happen, msbelle. And I'd like to point out that in a lot of places they don't actually turn off your water when you don't pay your bill since people need water to live and all. I may have taken advantage of that on occasion. Also, it's good to have those gallon jugs to keep filled with water stashed around the house in case of emergency, once you get them and use the water for this little emergency.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Thanks, Hec. I was just worried that 15 months was too young to suddenly start being picky.

One, I think it is evil that municipalities shut off water like that. Two, they just changed our billing system and I'm now super paranoid I'll miss a bill (because they are making a mess of it) and have in the past when it was quarterly, but I think there's an injunction or something over shutting off water until waaaaay overdue here. Or they just weren't that organized.

I am really impatient with being ailing. Like completely unreasonable and irrational.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Yeah, turning off your water with no warning seems a bit much.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

And now she is doing laps in her crib (not crying) because she doesn't want to sleep. Sigh.

sarameg, I'm so sorry. Also, seconding that shutting off water after one missed bill is evil.
