Perhaps. I would like getting dressed and going to work being less of a struggle. I was pretty good at that for a while.

Ooh, I just got a great metaphor from a colleague, which I think will resonate with a lot of folks -- I said, it was a long time coming, and she said, You still get hit by the bus, whether or not you've seen it coming. You're still hit by the bus!
Which I appreciated.
Y'all, I'm sure at some point I will be able to post about other stuff again, and thank you for bearing with me here.
That is a good metaphor.
I am behind on work because of slaking online and 4 days off the last 2 weeks, but goddamn if half of what I need to do is not cleaning up mistakes by others that were mostly avoidable.
I got a little pissy about it via group wide email this morning by basically saying, can ANYONE, just maybe check things first?
And I also haven't eaten yet this morning, so I am about to rip the next person's head off who does something stupid that impacts me.
Yeah, that's a good metaphor.

That is a good metaphor!!
In retrospect, going to an Indian restaurant for lunch on Diwali wasn't the best idea, though fortunately they were only crowded, rather than mobbed. In my defense, I thought Diwali was a couple of days ago.
In a meeting run by someone who can't run a meeting, with people who cannot follow directions. And Loki is sitting on my chest.
In my defense, I thought Diwali was a couple of days ago.
Apparently it's a 5-day thing! And the start date can be a day off between different regions -- it started today in South India and Sri Lanka but yesterday in North India and Nepal. And in Nepal, day 2 is dedicated to dogs: [link] . Also, I'm missing my coworker's ridiculously good annual Diwali treats by working at home today. (Guess which of these fun Diwali facts didn't come straight from wikipedia)
You're still hit by the bus!
And you'll get hit by the train, yet again and again,
You'll get hit by the Big Angst Train
Oh your hearts will be broken, and your spirits stolen,
You'll get hit by the Big Angst Train.
(I tried changing it to "hit by the bus," but it just didn't have the same, er, impact.
I feel lost today. I left home without my phone. I am now more likely to finish my book on the train ride home though, if I can stay awake.
