Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

It's a great metaphor.

Y'all, I'm sure at some point I will be able to post about other stuff again, and thank you for bearing with me here.

There is no bearing with you. There is only supporting our friend. There is no timetable anyone needs to follow here.

Me too, -t, and the idea of dealing with the chaos I can mitigate--the state of my house--is enough to put me on the couch in "not gonna" mode.

msbelle, I hope you've had food by now.

sarameg, at least one of those things is good? Unless Loki has reached the point of unwittingly performing chest compressions by simply sitting on your chest.

Slight meara

Jesse – I'm sorry for your loss. It IS always sudden.

Dana – congrats and the merit raise and ugh on the acquisition. I hope the transition is as smooth as possible. We are mid-stream of being acquired. They expect to have things finalized in the next month or so and then we officially start the transition, though things are already bubbling.

Amyth – I'm hoping things are better and you find a great new ortho. Self-care is SO important when things are spinning out of control (I'm trying hard to take my own advice).

-t and I got to see Hippocampus tonight!

Jealous. I also miss being able to see Buffistas on the regular.

I love vote by mail. Got my ballot yesterday, filled it out, mailed it out today. I enjoy voting in my underwear. Now if there was only an app I could activate that would erase all the political ads and signage and mailings from my life now.

Oh my giddy aunt, YES. I got my ballot, need to fill it out and mail it. And PLEASE, oh PLEASE stop of the ads and crap.

I finally got my sprinklers blown out and talked with the guy about the landscaping changes I want to make to my back yard and his suggestions for updating those sprinklers. Full. Copper, Repipe. Apparently all my sprinkler lines are PVC which is prone to shatter here. Thankfully nothing is currently busted and I have time to save up for the repiping, but dang.

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

I mean, there are worse ways for life to imitate art? It's not really alarming until you suddenly acquire a sister you never had before.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I first learned of Roy Dotrice as Vincent's "Father" on Beauty and the Beast. He illuminated the part.

Jesse, Suzi, -t, I'm thinking of you, and wishing you better.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Mr. S thinks a tape measure is a great toy. Budding engineer?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

For various scheduling reasons, today is Halloween at my office, and it's incredible! Every area has a different theme and they are all decorated and then people do or don't have costumes to go. My area is office-themed Monopoly, so we're just wearing black and someone made Monopoly money boards for us to put on. I helped set up a little, but am basically just here for the ride. I have already walked by a carnival, a whole mini golf course and The Office, and apparently our floor is not the one that goes "all out." SO FUN.

Going on a roadtrip to Dogwood Canyon with my daughter this weekend. She's going to get to practice some highway driving and we're going to listen to a Rex Stout audio book. I'm really looking forward to it.

Oh, I should do that here. I know Crowley has a costume. I should check with Kelly to see if Jack has something.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Couldn't sleep last night for coughing. Now I'm sitting here in a daze staring at a massive pile of work that didn't exist two days ago. What happened?

What happened is, we're close to year's end and everything that everyone -including me- procrastinated on all year now has to be done all at once. And if I'm catching up on my own procrastination, that's one thing, but when someone else's procrastination lands on my desk, that's another damn thing. This one guy, I swear, it takes him six months to do anything. He's worse than I am! It's a list, Ian, there's like 5 things on it. Just send me the fucking list. Even if it's wrong, we can fix it in post. Just send it.

I would like to move to Scotland and raise heirloom sheep.
