"This says he lives in Stately Wayne Manor."
"Huh, Mr. Wayne didn't strike me as the kind to sublet to some guy looking for a security job."
I've told the tale of getting to dash my entitled princess former neighbor's hopes of a security clearance during an FBI interview, haven't I? Best part was I didn't even say anything about personal conflict with her, relating the one thing that actually had bearing on security issues made the interviewing agent say something to the effect of "Oh, that's not good..."
Oh, I did have a cop show up at my front door to ask what kind of neighbor a potential cop was. I said, "Is it good that he's never done anything to attract my attention? Though they do like to work on their cars on the weekends."
I've done a lot of security clearance interviews given I lived in DC and went to the college I did...Navy, CIA, FBI...
Oh boy, I've had lots of clients in the alphabets and their clearance interviews have become kind of annoying. I don't mind at all doing them because they are usually precursors to promotions. But.
My DExH and I used to conduct background checks as a side business and I remember us being way more thorough.
These days, I get the inevitable call that they need to do an interview in my office. Every single time, I ask if they are sure they need to come. Can't we do it over the phone. Nope. Gotta come in.
So. I schedule for it and it takes less than 5 minutes. I am not even kidding that one agent didn't even make it all the way up the second floor stairs before he was done and headed back out the door.
Protocol, man. Sheesh.
I had to do one with an FBI agent for a former student and my boss's boss freaked out because we are only supposed to give dates of employment.
You know what mysteriously works for a lot of my tension headaches, like yesterday's? Leaving work at the end of the day. (That it also coincides with getting to take my bra off might also be a factor.)
I've definitely gotten headaches that were caused by dehydration, but once an actual headache appears, the only cure is painkillers. Drinking water after the fact doesn't help me much.
I have a headache now, and I'm pretty sure it's being caused by a weather front moving in. On the upside, the weather front will probably kill 90+F temps for the rest of the summer, and I'm willing to live with a few hours of pain for that.
Water may help in that it's washing down the ibuprofen. But not on its own.
So I broke my toe Monday night. And now I'm waiting to get a wisdom tooth extraction.
But I do feel better about the background check after reading posts here.
