Tonight Tim is at that (poorly organized) bachelor party I mentioned a couple weeks ago. Because the groom and his friends are all middle-aged dudes who all fall somewhere on the curmudgeon scale, they aren't at a strip club or anything -- they're at a movie theater that serves dinner with the movie. I am DESPERATELY hoping they're watching The Big Sick. (Except I haven't seen it yet and I'll be jealous.) Because that's perfect for a bunch of curmudgeonly 50-something dudes at a bachelor party.

But I suspect they're either seeing Dunkirk, Spider-Man, or Wonder Woman. Still, my fingers are crossed for the romantic comedy.

Apparently Trump is asking, just theoretically, if he can pardon himself.

If he tries this, we are going to spend a fucking year or something with every person in the world debating the meaning of the word "pardon".

Got filling done, sans anesthesia because when you've had 2 root canals on a tooth, you actually don't need it. My jaw isn't even sore. Finalized work & catcare instructions, maybe. Tying the last bits up tomorrow & packing. AND THEN! Swim @ Druid sat morning, last of any packing, charging, possible stop for a taco & sope, etc & off to Alaska for a week.

I am clearly way overthinking this, but I'm feeling like what we're seeing with Trump is if Balthazar had been given the role of the Big Bad by mistake. Where is the Republican member of Congress who, when Trump says "You know what I want", has the fortitude to respond with "If it's for me to scrub those hard-to-reach areas, I'd like to request you kill me now"?

Ah crap, I'm probably gonna start my period on this trip. Unamused.

And in less personal, I'm getting a comment retweeted (I don't tweet much, I use twitter for info) about city pools vs fancyschmany pool ($50 a SUMMER + adult morning swim vs a DAY) & kinda freaky. Especially when local pols I really don't like. Otoh, more people know the awesome of summer city pool pass.

I'd really like to post snarky stuff about Trump, but I don't have time.

I'm feeling kind of down. My wife apparently thinks I'm too lazy and don't do enough. The last four days I've been solid busy from waking up to collapsing in bed. I'm thinking I just suck at doing stuff in general. I feel miserable a lot of the time, and I just seem to disappoint people no matter how much I try and I guess mostly fail to do. What the fuck is the point? I wish I could just go to sleep and not have to wake up.
