My mother -- the woman who had open-heart surgery 2 days ago (TWO. DAYS.) -- hasn't been on ANY pain meds since the night of her surgery.**
I am descended from Antiope, general of the Amazons.
**(When I repeated, in astonishment, "NO PAIN MEDS?!?", my mom amended that with -- hand to god -- "Well, I took 2 Tylenol earlier for a sinus headache.")
Damn. That's one tough lady.
By the time I'm done customizing the Wordpress theme for my wife's website I think I might have well just written my own theme.

RIGHT??? She says it's because she doesn't have any pain, not because she's trying to tough it out despite the pain. That's frigging amazing.
Yes, your mom is tough. Moms sometimes have very different pain threshholds...
I asked her, "Damn, Mom, did you have pain meds when you gave birth???" And she said "A whole lot of percocet!"
So apparently she's just a cardiovascular weirdo.

The cri de coeur of many a WP admin. We're in the process of adding new official themes for the multisite at work. It's pretty complex and involved. Luckily I'm just along for review and beta testing.

Bodies are strange. My dad had major dental work without wanting or taking pain meds, but when he stubbed a toe or twisted an ankle, he really felt the pain.
I sometimes have pain with menstrual cramps that is so bad I throw up, and advil doesn't help much, but I had two babies without pain meds at all, including after an episiotomy. Bodies is weird.
Yay for relatively painless recovery! Well done Teppy Mom.
Also, pie! I don't think I will ever see a pie chart in the future without a grin of remembrance.
What I have done in the last four hours: went to the car dealership to pick up and attach my license plates, got a hair cut, went shoe shopping, bought groceries, navigated the traffic around the city's summertime festival to get home. It's me in front of a fan for the rest of the day.
