Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My personal Dirty Dancing story: I can't remember how the conversation started, but one time my father referred to it as that movie about the father/daughter relationship. Aw, dads.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

one time my father referred to it as that movie about the father/daughter relationship.

Aw, that's so sweet! And he's not wrong.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Fingers crossed for your brother, Consuela.

I am on hour 35 of an Aleve-resistant migraine. The headache isn't actually too severe, but I've had it pretty much continuously since I woke up Wednesday morning. Very annoying.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

smonster, thanks for the link. The web doctor had me open my mouth and bring the iPad camera close up so she could see inside. I have no sores or spots in my mouth. She did deliberate about fungus vs. bacteria, and asked questions about the appearance of the rash over the months, like if it was scaley or anything. And she did caution me that if this Bactroban does not help, taking a culture would be a good idea.

Matt, that just sucks.

Does napping count as working?

Code it as staff enrichment/stress management exercise.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

TIL that D2: The Mighty Ducks starred not only a young Joshua Jackson, but a young Elden Henson, aka Foggy from Daredevil.

Saw a CNN tweet about Ben Jacobs and made the mistake of looking at the replies. Ugh, seems a majority of people think assaulting reports for asking questions is awesome. Have to remind myself it's only a majority of people who respond to CNN tweets.

How does this work? My father calls me, I don't get to the phone in time, I call him right back...he doesn't pick up.

Pocket dial, maybe.

That happens with my wife sometimes. She gets so pissed that I didn't answer the phone so she won't take my calls for awhile.

Probably not the case in this instance.

Your wife doesn't seem to understand how life works.

hip deep in pie

I have had a morning. My dad had a 'sode last night and ended up in the hospital. He's fine now and about to be released. They think it was cased by a weird meds interaction.

But my sister is not great in an emergency and had me in a panic most of the morning because she first just left a cryptic message on my phone, and then gave me a wrong number for my other sister's new cell to get updates. I feel like I need a drink.
