Saw a CNN tweet about Ben Jacobs and made the mistake of looking at the replies. Ugh, seems a majority of people think assaulting reports for asking questions is awesome. Have to remind myself it's only a majority of people who respond to CNN tweets.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

How does this work? My father calls me, I don't get to the phone in time, I call him right back...he doesn't pick up.

Pocket dial, maybe.

That happens with my wife sometimes. She gets so pissed that I didn't answer the phone so she won't take my calls for awhile.

Probably not the case in this instance.

Your wife doesn't seem to understand how life works.

hip deep in pie

I have had a morning. My dad had a 'sode last night and ended up in the hospital. He's fine now and about to be released. They think it was cased by a weird meds interaction.

But my sister is not great in an emergency and had me in a panic most of the morning because she first just left a cryptic message on my phone, and then gave me a wrong number for my other sister's new cell to get updates. I feel like I need a drink.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh dear, Sue. I hope things settle down and dad is good.

Simple answer about my father -- he was leaving a voicemail while I was calling back.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

How complicated is it to figure out how to make a cell phone ring longer before kicking over to voicemail? I've been on hold with the customer service agent for six minutes while he looks it up.

My co-workers: So you're telling me that your fantasy is to run a bed and breakfast in hell.

I think I came in mid-conversation.

It was actually longer than six minutes, I hung up at 26 minutes.
