Excellent Connie! That sounds tasty.

I like to make meatloaf with cubes of cheese rather than shredded, so as to end up with discrete lumps of cheesiness distributed through the loaf and any that have external exposure get nice and toasty.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I have never even heard of cheese in meatloaf. I feel like I'm more agog than this warrants, given cheeseburgers are a thing.

Swiss Loaf a la I Hate to Cook is what I grew up with. Meatloaf that is glazed or covered in tomato sauce is weird to me.

Brenda, glad I'm not the only one going "cheese???"

brillig

One of my special birthday meals when I was a kid was meatloaf with cheese in the middle and on top. Bigger chunks of cheese sound like a good idea.

Edit: This may be a dish variation from mid-century rural America, where exotic food was LaChoy chow mein and fancy ethnic food was lasagna. It was a different age.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Brenda, glad I'm not the only one going "cheese???"

That was my reaction, too, immediately followed by "CHEESE!!!" Because that sounds really yummy.

The 5 stages of cheesy meatloaf:

Bewilderment

Curiosity

Excitement

Gluttony

Satiety

Thrive to spite them

I've seen meatloaf with hardcooked eggs in the middle but not cheese.

Mom made meatloaf tonight. I made bread again. One loaf turned out okay the other didn't rise much the second time. But I don't have dough cutter thing and my nephew was wanting to divide the dough and it ended up uneven so I tried to add more dough to the other half and I think that was the mistake.

But when it came out , in my had I heard Paul Hollywood saying it was overworked and underproved. and after I cut into them Mary Berry talking about the close texture..

Why at 7pm was I exhausted and in bed, but then I went and got ice cream and now it's 10pm and I'm wide awake? Body so weird.

Our wings are not tired.

My sister had a cookbook about 40 years ago with only meatloaf varieties that she and her daughter worked their way through. The one I remember they thought sounded good but wasn't had a big dill pickle in the center.
