I think enlisted didn't start showing up onscreen until either after Roddenberry died or at least once he stepped away from directly running the show
So all those guys in red shirts who got killed in the beginning of the show were officers? Guess that would explain why Starfleet would have been all officers ....
Still haven't seen RoS either.

After seeing it, I was playing with a random hurt/comfort trope generator that spit out the whole plot at random and that pretty much sums up that clusterfuck.
I saw RoS. I'm not angry about it, just disappointed. Part of that is because I actually really liked TLJ and RoS went out of its way to throw out as much of it that it could, and the other part is because it is basically just full of dumb.
Incidentally, I blame Star Trek for the fact I didn't realize that the Navy even had enlisted until I was an adult.
I liked the parts of RoS that I liked. Furious about the Rose stuff. Mostly I stripped it for parts to feed my enjoyment.

That's hilarious. I am in the haven't seen RoS group as well - mostly not enthused with a healthy dose of trepidation because I really like TLJ but also figuring I'll see it at some point because I can't go around not seeing Star Wars movies, can I? Although there are several that I haven't. But the "yet" is assumed.
I avoided Revenge of the Sith for a long time even though people said it was the BEST part of a disappointing trilogy (when I finally saw it I was not impressed). Given that TLJ was the most interesting and enjoyable star wars cinematic experience in 30+ years to me, everything I've heard since makes me perfectly happy to skip it.
I am considering starting to play some Star Wars The Old Republic soon though. Have it installed and everything.

I remember those texts! They were great.
