I was playing with a random hurt/comfort trope generator that spit out the whole plot at random and that pretty much sums up that clusterfork.
That's hilarious. I am in the haven't seen RoS group as well - mostly not enthused with a healthy dose of trepidation because I really like TLJ but also figuring I'll see it at some point because I can't go around not seeing Star Wars movies, can I? Although there are several that I haven't. But the "yet" is assumed.
I avoided Revenge of the Sith for a long time even though people said it was the BEST part of a disappointing trilogy (when I finally saw it I was not impressed). Given that TLJ was the most interesting and enjoyable star wars cinematic experience in 30+ years to me, everything I've heard since makes me perfectly happy to skip it.
I am considering starting to play some Star Wars The Old Republic soon though. Have it installed and everything.
After seeing it, I was playing with a random hurt/comfort trope generator that spit out the whole plot at random and that pretty much sums up that clusterfuck.
I remember those texts! They were great.
I remember those texts! They were great.
SO ACCURATE AND SO CRINGY! I laughed and laughed and laughed.
I remember reading a review that said something like "they have to go
here
to get the thing, then
there
to get the decoder to find the clue to the
next
thing" and thinking
oh, shit.
If I'd watched it more than once, it might have clicked then; that bit with the Sith knife is almost pure Rambaldi.
I loved TLJ. LOVED loved. Loved enough that I deceived myself into thinking it redeemed some of the other terrible choices the franchise has gone through. Which is why I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE ROS so much.
He should abso-fucking-lutely NOT have done Star Wars.
As a person who largely doesn't care about any Star War since the first film, I yield to the person who obviously does care. JJA should never touch an existing franchise again.
I just realized I never saw Rise of Skywalker. I think I don't want to.
Still haven't seen RoS either.
Cosigned. The "fan" reaction to TLJ left a very bitter taste in my mouth and I was pretty sure I didn't want to see RoS before it came out. I haven't heard one thing since that indicates I should.
Abrams is so fucking predictable and terrible.
Somehow I convinced my nephews to skip ST: Into Darkness (I cannot abide the thought of a white-washed Khan and all the bullshit Cumberbatchy stuff), so we're halfway through ST: Beyond. Which is... not as offensively terrible. Although I think it's ridiculous that 5 years after making Captain, Jim Kirk is already angling for a promotion because he's bored on the Enterprise.
... did these people see any of the original series? I mean, seriously.
