"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

My grump is infinite.

I sang this to the TMBG tune.

Dag, the internet has been making me cry the last couple months. The Stanford rape thing has been distressing. And that HONY series on pediatric oncology was brutal.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Jesse! You changed your Feminist Hulk tagline.

I did! I did it a while ago.

So I'm giving away the day off next week, but am being Very Firm about the day off this week, which is exciting. I keep telling people "I am out on Friday!" (Maybe I'm going to do my performance review that day, but I will be out of the office.)

I want to go to a bake off!! And Brenda, I had totally forgotten about cupcakes in ice cream cones! Aww. Though I kinda hate cake cones and always go for waffle or sugar cones instead. Which would be harder to do cupcakes in because they don't stand up?

Had a verrrry long dinner with an old friend last night--the service was awful, but the food and drink were good (my margarita was shockingly strong, I could only have one!). But it was so neat and yet weird to catch up--we were friends in college, and then I don't think I'd seen him in at least ten years until last year--he got a job for a company based here in Seattle. What was weird was how freaking old and adult I felt like our convo was, even if it was also good and easy and whatever--I mean, we talked about mortgages and running and health and parental health and just...oy.

I'm very much looking forward to next week - working half days Wednesday and Thursday, taking Friday and Monday off, then I'm in Salt Lake for Work Tuesday and Wednesday. Yes, those last two are work days, but it will still feel like a week off. Sorta.

Punishingly Intricate

Cupcakes in ice cream cones was my best friend's go to baking trick before she went vegan and gf. So cute and delicious!

Super cute!

Hey, didn't someone here used to be NovaChild? I just saw someone by that name commenting on Serious Eats and it rang a bell.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Somebody was. Gris, maybe?

I have a twitter question. Some people's usernames have started showing up like (((name))). I'm assuming they're not self-hugging. (I could be wrong.) Does anyone know what's up?

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

This was the first time I've done a mail-in ballot for an election. It's weird not having to go to a church that smells like mothballs and/or urine.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I just had to look it up. It's a tactic used by neo-nazis to identify Jewish people. So people both Jewish and non-Jewish have started using it to defiantly self-identify.
