Natter 74: Ready or Not
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Clinton is going to clean the floor with Trump.
I don't know. I would think so when he hits a more diverse electorate in the general, but my gut says it's going to be close. A lot of people really hate Hillary and maybe that will get a lot of angry white guys to the polls.
Hard to see how he overcomes the electoral advantage Hillary has with a close race though.
Still don't know what to do about Muppet. At least I know the bridge situation will be relieved (a little, with a temporary) so that I can bite and talk without pain later today.
In the meantime, I'm working on my latest Udacity project, and trying to get my head around function closure. Which I am terrifying close to understanding.
Closures. Sounds like Javascript.
A lot of people really hate Hillary and maybe that will get a lot of angry white guys to the polls.
A lot of people ALSO really hate Trump, including his own party. Last night there was a LOT of talk about "Republicans for Hillary," the NotTrump movement, etc. And then you have people like my dad, who are horrifying misogynists and won't vote for Clinton, but also won't vote for Trump because he's the fucking devil.
I think it'll be a horrifically ugly campaign, but I really think Clinton's got this.
The only thing I don't get today is this outcry of shock/horror/whatever that Trump is now the de facto nominee.
Like, I slacked off on the exercise and also hit up the M&Ms too hard at the same time, and when my jeans were too tight...I WASN'T SHOCKED. Because I could see it coming.
Why is there ANY shock about Trump today? I for real don't get it. Everyone saw it coming.
It's always sudden.
Threepeat:
Also, *are* there any moderate Republican politicians left any more? Or are they all hiding out on an island together because they don't want to be associated with what their party has become?
There used to be moderate Republican politicians, right? I remember this. As recently as the 90s, I remember this. Bob Dole doesn't look so bad right now. Hell, *Reagan* doesn't look so bad right now (and it physically pains me to type that). Where is the island they all fled to?
There aren't moderate Republican elected officials, because of gerrymandering and the Tea Party, right? All the moderates got beaten in primaries by people farther to the right.
I am having a hard time concentrating in my meeting because of politics. I would like to get past the stage of "Trump couldn't really, right?" and into the stage of enjoying his humiliating defeat.
