Also, *are* there any moderate Republican politicians left any more? Or are they all hiding out on an island together because they don't want to be associated with what their party has become?
There used to be moderate Republican politicians, right? I remember this. As recently as the 90s, I remember this. Bob Dole doesn't look so bad right now. Hell, *Reagan* doesn't look so bad right now (and it physically pains me to type that). Where is the island they all fled to?
There aren't moderate Republican elected officials, because of gerrymandering and the Tea Party, right? All the moderates got beaten in primaries by people farther to the right.
I am having a hard time concentrating in my meeting because of politics. I would like to get past the stage of "Trump couldn't really, right?" and into the stage of enjoying his humiliating defeat.

So they're on that mythical island, then. I hope the drinks are good.
I'm still full of raaaaaaaaaage at my dad today. I've always known in the back of my mind how horribly sexist he is, but I've been able to ignore it because he's smart enough not to even start that shit with me. But apparently he hates Clinton enough that he thinks it's okay to bust out the bullshit with his actual female offspring.
Like, I know Tim's dad won't vote for Clinton because he's a dyed-in-the-wool FOX News Republican. He wouldn't have voted for *any* Democratic candidate. But he's also not a hateful misogynist. I'm obviously going to avoid talking politics with him as well, BUT I don't expect to hear any hateful misogyny coming out of his mouth.
Bah. I forsee many, many months of using the fierce banhammer of Shut The Fuck Up Dad. (He also told me last night that Obama has made the US into a third-world country. I laughed so hard and for so long that he shut up on that one.)
enjoying his humiliating defeat.
Just imagine how fantastic your FB feed will look on election night as a sea of Hamilton GIFs.
oh joy, shrift
At least it'll be over quickly. I'm listening to Hamilton on the shuttle right now because I am very sleep deprived and I had to be out the door by 6:30am today.
Elizabeth Warren commented that Trump is more popular with the KKK than any of the leaders of the party he's representing.
I don't have the spoons or the free time, but now I'm fantasizing about creating Rage Cheese Plate social media accounts to reply with pictures of cheese in response to every wrongheaded post about this election.
That's gonna be a lot of cheese.
