I'm still full of raaaaaaaaaage at my dad today. I've always known in the back of my mind how horribly sexist he is, but I've been able to ignore it because he's smart enough not to even start that shit with me. But apparently he hates Clinton enough that he thinks it's okay to bust out the bullshit with his actual female offspring.
Like, I know Tim's dad won't vote for Clinton because he's a dyed-in-the-wool FOX News Republican. He wouldn't have voted for *any* Democratic candidate. But he's also not a hateful misogynist. I'm obviously going to avoid talking politics with him as well, BUT I don't expect to hear any hateful misogyny coming out of his mouth.
Bah. I forsee many, many months of using the fierce banhammer of Shut The Fuck Up Dad. (He also told me last night that Obama has made the US into a third-world country. I laughed so hard and for so long that he shut up on that one.)

I am so glad my dad has gone the other direction. He was a Republican for most of my life but Bush broke him of that. (And TBH, I think his allegiance was largely a combination of pro-military and needling my mom.) Now he's full on Dem.
Between that and the Scott Walker purges a few years ago my flist is largely clear.
