That's an excellent summary of episode 5.
Best recap ever
I was expecting yet another Loki variant at the End of Time for the finale. I thought the ending we got would be a possibility, but I did not expect Marvel to lean into it as hard as they did.
That was . . . not very satisfying?
Agreed.
Thirded.
I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't that.
yeah. My standard for finales is: must be surprising and yet inevitable, simultaneously. Cannot pull some bullshit out of your backpocket: gotta drop enough clues but add a good twist so it's not predictable.
I found this to be sourced from the backpocket. Kind of disappointing, despite the good character work done by all parties.
Still not completely sold on altruistic Loki, though.
I feel like this ep was punishment for all the fans who ever complained about every Marvel series ending with a CGI lightshow battle.
"Don't like big blowout fight scenes? Fine, we'll have the heroes spend half the episode sitting quietly and listening to the villain explain the plot. HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES"
