Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

That's an excellent summary of episode 5.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Best recap ever

I was expecting yet another Loki variant at the End of Time for the finale. I thought the ending we got would be a possibility, but I did not expect Marvel to lean into it as hard as they did.

That was . . . not very satisfying?

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Agreed.

I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't that.

yeah. My standard for finales is: must be surprising and yet inevitable, simultaneously. Cannot pull some bullshit out of your backpocket: gotta drop enough clues but add a good twist so it's not predictable.

I found this to be sourced from the backpocket. Kind of disappointing, despite the good character work done by all parties.

Still not completely sold on altruistic Loki, though.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I feel like this ep was punishment for all the fans who ever complained about every Marvel series ending with a CGI lightshow battle.

"Don't like big blowout fight scenes? Fine, we'll have the heroes spend half the episode sitting quietly and listening to the villain explain the plot. HOW DO YOU LIKE THEM APPLES"

I did think, for about 30 seconds or so, that Miss Minutes was the actual mastermind behind the entire TVA. I would have been impressed if Marvel went with that.

My brother reminded me this morning that about 3 weeks ago he texted me a picture of his Kang action figure (which of course he has), with the text "There are no Timekeepers; only Kang." He's very pleased with himself for calling that one.
