I thought that John Walker had
be given a small dose of the serum or was brain washed or something. Also I was wondering how he had actually acted on those days he got Medals of Honor for because of bending the rules or resorting to violence. Although I feel like him acting unstable was new. I wish there was more time for things to breathe because we went right from- Walker is an arrogant ass, to Walker is acting kind of unstable, to Walker is tempted by the serum and right into- Walker took the serum and It Was Not Good. Plus Karli talked about chills and feeling the worst they had ever felt. And Walker just took it and then BOOM! He was super soldier. I'm still thinking he had been given a small amount of the serum at some point. Or is brain washed. I really hope this isn't going to be HYDRA in the Gov or the GRC is run by ex HYDRA just because it would be nice for something different.
I just don't like Walker at all. Part of it is some of the choices that I'm not sure why those choices were made. He's a white guy, who it seems went to a HBCU. He gets the HBCU intro, he has a black best friend and a black wife and we don't get Sam as Captain America. I can understand why Sam wouldn't want to be Captain America and I can buy that I just...I dunno it just feels weird. And I haven't liked his attitude towards most things especially about being Captain America.

Also, I hadn't realized (or perhaps had forgotten) that there are only going to be SIX episodes? Six episodes and they had to edit out a major plot point - no wonder there are pacing issues!
It really needs to be longer. Mandolorian got 8 episodes and Wandavision got 9.
So there is no room for any moments to just sit and resonate. And while the opening combat fight was amazing it was way too long for so much story to be told . Plus where is Torres at this point?
We've got 2 episodes to deal with waht John Walker did . Karli and the Power Broker. And Zemo. And Bucky making amends. It's a lot.
I get that ditching a sub plot caused problems but I think there would still be pacing issues.
Especially compared to Wandavision or Mandolarian. I'm going to admit I wasn't hugely into Wandavision . And I know Mandolarian is Star wars and not MCU but I rarely felt like it was overstuffed..and I can't help comparing them since they are both Disney originals.
Mandalorian did not feel overstuffed at all - I think a lot of that has to do with the incredibly movie-Western feel of the series. There's a lot more room for space and breath in a Western (sometimes too much).
The Mandalorian goes to a lot of effort to make each episode seem self-contained, while also having a season-long story arc. TFATWS feels more like a six-hour long movie than a bunch of individual episodes. The Marvel Netflix shows had the same problem but much worse, because they had 13-episode seasons.

Ep. 5: I enjoyed almost every minute of that. Okay, I'm a little irritated by
there being one senator in charge of every evil/self-righteous thing the US or world government does,
but other than that, I liked it. I'm impressed
that they made me most sympathetic to Walker after he murdered a sympathetic character,
and I'm glad
Sam really got the spotlight for motivation and conflict and meaning.
It was... I liked it.
Oh okay, one thing:
the Raft? a) we have only ever seen that used as a political tool to contain dissidents, so weird overtones there, and b) he seemed pretty well contained in prison until Bucky came along.
But that's super minor. Oh, so much was good.
