I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Yesterday I go into the work bathroom to find an empty paper towel roll. There are at least 12 extra rolls on a shelf on the bathroom.

Today I go in and find an empty tp roll.

I hate my coworkers.

I am getting written up at work. I forgot to submit an order, a largish order, and even though we got it delivered on the same day they wanted it, it was late and weakened a negotiation underway with them. Bah! I own the mistake, am really furious with myself.

Maple sugar candy is my biggest weakness. I try VERY hard not to ever buy it for myself. My kids usually get me some for Christmas and I make it last as long as possible.

I used to have a few of Yatzee's stories printed out. I think they got "downsized" when we moved.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That seems shitty, msbelle. I guess I've never worked anywhere where people got written up for ordinary kinds of things -- a talking to by a supervisor, sure.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Maple sugar cotton candy sounds amazing!

I have a kind of mental block about pierogies. Objectively, they are totally the kind of food I like, but somehow my subconscious expects them to be piroshkis and is always disappointed that they are not.

I am intrigued by the gnomes!

Sorry to hear that, msbelle. I know how frustrating that is. The mistake more than the empty rolls of paper products, but that's not good either.

I can't believe your job situation, aurelia. So weird.

I'm taking an actual sick day today - woke up with a swollen eye and a deep desire for about 6 more hours of sleep. Have done a little work already, but maybe will be able to do not much more and be able to get back to bed soon...

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

The 2 times I have been written up in my life were for crazypants reasons.

Once, when I student employee that I did not hire nor could I see while she was working put some high school program letters in the wrong envelopes (like the envelop said Mr. Smith and the letter said Mr. Jones.).

The second was when my boss was convinced I was sabotaging her and the program, and everything on it was either untrue or just completely weird-- like our accountant (who hated me) said I told her I said I did not know how to do a deposit after doing them for many years, when really when I said was that I did not know the account number for that particular account, since it was the first time I had deposited to that account.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I've never been written up. Do they make you sign the write-up? If so, can you write that you don't agree with the write-up?

I got written up, put on a performance improvement plan, and was sure I was going to lose my job - I'm still here 23 years and going strong. I had a supervisor (who was never introduced as a supervisor until after she had been on disability leave for a few weeks). While she was on leave, I was covering her projects and found a bunch of errors, including things that meant we needed to send refunds to a few clients. When she returned, I "didn't have the proper respect" and she wrote me up. She was also fired about 4 months later.

Yes you have to sign. You can say you disagree, but with write up number 2, I actually salvaged my job (which I still have, my boss is gone) by saying I was horribly sorry, I didn't mean to upset her, I would try better and get my meds adjusted (which I did not). about 6 months later she was gone.

I'm glad a coworker guilted me into going to meditation this morning, because it's definitely an "I will cut you if you put one more meeting on my calendar" kind of day.

So, I applied for an October work trip to SF in April, and was told in May it was a no-go, so planned to attend the conference virtually. TODAY my boss tells me, in a surprise to him, he received the travel approval for me to go. It's a month from today, we've already set our work schedules for October, and I am teaching 2 classes on the day I'd be coming back from the conference, so I'd need to reschedule those. ARGH, fiscal office, what the heck? I think I am just going to not go, because boss and I both figure if this year's funding makes no sense, nothing we do now is likely to have any effect on next year's funding, which will also make no sense.
