Even if you just want to come over, ring our doorbell, trudge upstairs, watch Winter Soldier while we feed you and hand you cold cocktails and then drive you home.
Hell, I'd love to do that any night regardless of how stressed out I am.
This Monday is approximately 1,000% more Mondayish than most Mondays are.
I got, like, 4 or 5 hours of sleep, so everything is a Struggle.
I also got a new work laptop, so I'm setting it up and trying to remember how to use a Mac.
I'm still waiting for Monday to feel like Monday, other than yesterday was Sunday. With my luck, 5:15 will roll around and I'll have a big "Oh, fuck, no" moment.
a big "Oh, fuck, no" moment.
Welcome to my whole day. I would be drinking already if I didn't have so much work to do.
I have to come up with someone to ask to give my boss feedback on me, and I can't figure out who! The people with whom I both work a lot and am confident would give me a good grade are pretty senior, so probably overwhelmed with reviews themselves. Stupid review season.
You have to ask people to review you/ I'm glad that is not part of our process.
I'm having to constantly check which of the things that urgently need doing CAN be done and it's frying my brain even faster than a typical day. OTOH, that they are not getting done is not, at this point, my fault.
Hm, bimonthly meeting with Sr. Director has been cancelled. I'll try not to take it personally. But if we don't meet again until September I'll be annoyed if she expects us to remember what we talked about in May. That's a long time between meetings.
I have to come up with a WHOLE BUNCH OF PEOPLE to answer a survey about me! This year my boss and I skipped it because we have a new online review process, which we hate, and we were too busy hating it.
That's kind of nice that your boss hates it with you, at least.
Yeah, it's pretty annoying. I'm glad my boss hates it as well, because otherwise I'm pretty sure I'd be looking for three IN ADDITION to my two direct reports.
It is. It is too bad my boss does not decide my raise (or even know my salary).
I am actually not certain if we are getting raises. If we are, it will be effective on Wednesday. We usually get a letter detailing the raise, and I haven't gotten one. I wasn't at the last all staff meeting, so maybe they talked about it there and let us know that there were no raises.
