Goodbye and Good Riddance 2013: That Was the Year That Was

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Thanksgivukkahmas, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Out you go, 2013!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I think it's on record for longest time from thread opening to first post.

(but probably also for longest time from thread request to creation, so...)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Thread header is out of date wrt Christmukkah, ftr. Or, not out of date, but something! This year is all Thanksgivukkah!

HI THREAD HI.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

With the collision of holidays, the paper went a little overboard with their reports. One was a long story on a "Nava-Jew" family (Orthodox Jews, the mother is Navajo ... she sometimes has to leave the powdered milk out of her frybread) and coverage of "menurkey" sales (menorahs shaped like turkeys).

Dear Secret santee, I think a gift I sent you via online is going to out me. But there is more coming...sometime soon.

I don't think the thread opening was announced. Maybe people don't know. I'm going to put a post in press.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I have acquired gifts for my giftee also! But should I wait and send them closer to Christmas? And how do we preserve anonymity when sending presents? Just not use a return address?

Because books.

You don't have to be anonymous if you don't want to!

So far I am still making notes and compiling ideas, but I like the gifts to arrive closer to Christmas.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I've got the majority of my giftee's stuff together. I need to buy one more thing, and I may bake some cookies to send.
