Don't worry, I'm not gonna start any sword fights. I'm over that phase.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I mispronounced the liquor in my drink when I asked what it was. Tom is awesome and I rambled.

Drink was delish though with crushed pellet ice that I love.

Stupid autocorrect.

I got a Tree House, and I think msbelle got a Voodoo: [link]

Truth! I might be wired. Everyone is in bed and I am keeping Mac up by typing.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

How fun! Both those drinks sound great. I love that swizzling is an actual technique - I had no idea.

Punishingly Intricate

Yum! I probably would have gotten the Magic Hour--gin, citrus, and sparkling wine! Yummy for me!

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Boo for layoffs, Calli! May something good appear soon!

Yay for fancy cocktails with Scola and msbelle!

I am exhausted by the last week of school. How can that be a rational plan for the coming summer? I have two kids home with me tomorrow. I'm thinking swimming at Sunset Rec or the beach, am I right?

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Jealous of msbelle and Scola! And cocktails, mmm.

Hivemind: What is a reasonable rate to offer someone for housesitting? I have no idea what to base this on. We'll be out of town for 19 days this summer, so we asked our catsitter if she'd like to housesit for us (she used to live in our neighborhood until she had to move back in with her parents, so I figured this might be a pretty nice deal for her), but I don't know what to pay her. When she was catsitting, we paid her $10/day for two visits per day. Housesitting would mostly involve feeding the cats, and also occasionally watering the flowers out front, so not really much more in the way of duties; the main thing would just be having her here most nights, to keep the place (and the cats) occupied. Do we need to offer more than the $10/day rate?

Because books.

I would think maybe almost double that per day, or offer a nice round flat fee, like $300 or something.

I am exhausted by the last week of school.

Right there with you.

I agree, if you want her to stay there for the nights, I'd offer a bit more.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I only took msbelle to the best cocktail bar in the U.S.

Pfft. 7 in Seattle and 1 in San Francisco? Bullshit. And they didn't even get the best one in SF. Invalid.

Though I'm sure msbelle's drink was tasty.
