I have arduous tasked, and would like some glittery star stickers, please. I have confirmed travel plans for an event I'm a guest at, contacted someone about a job lead, and (the most arduous/nerve-wracking) scheduled a consultation appointment with an oral surgeon to finally get my wisdom teeth out.
Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I have arduous tasked, too! I've done AMA work (and another article just landed in my inbox), made the bed, washed dishes, done 2 loads of laundry, cleaned the toilet, gone to the library for Doctor Who DVDs, gone to CVS, and gone to the gym. Oh, and cleaned off the grungy phone. How do they get so dirty???
Now more editing awaits me, woo.
I was in denial about this draft article I am supposed to send out this week, and thought I was nearly done. Then I realized one chunk is not written at all. SIGH OF ONEROUSNESS.
My weekend was a bit too heavy on the arduous task scale, with grading all day Fri and Sat and culling and cleaning all day Sun and Mon. But we squeezed in the Lego Movie too, so that was fun.
Sending good vibes to you and the kids, Kat. And K too.
mr. flea and the kids went to the Lego movie yesterday, and I went to the academic library and took notes on a book that has, I shit you not, 1142 pages. And also talked to my crazy former boss, the one with whom I once had a sit-down meeting about whether or not there was toner in the closet.
Brag ahead.
As a huge corporation, our company moves very slowly with the annual review process. Today I talked to my boss about my performance over the last year. I won't find out about the promotion he put me up for or any salary increase until some point in March.
He shared the feedback write up that is the basis for the promotion request which included the following...
She instills confidence quickly due to her clear knowledge of the cost and control tools. She mentors others and transfers knowledge within in the PM community. She is very much an exemplary project controls professional.
That last sentence. Damn. ::blush::.
WOOOO Suzi!
I want to go to the Lego movie.
We knew you were exemplary!
For those if you who miss my sister, here is a newly minted Nutty aphorism: "Anyway, I reserve broiling for things that are moist."
That's great Suzi, brag away!
flea, it sounds like you got a raw deal.
I am so dang tired, I can't find my motivation to grade, but it's not like I have a lot of choice on this one.
I once had a sit-down meeting about whether or not there was toner in the closet.
Did you sit down in the closet with the toner (or where the toner should have been but was not)? Because that has a directness I can appreciate.
