... except I just got an almost-offer from the contracting firm. Except they want to pay me less than the amount that they never made me an offer with, and they want me to be a 1099 employee.
I'm getting pretty aggravated with these folks.
What's the differential for 1099 vs employee? $10K/year for benefits, plus 7.5% for payroll tax?

At my place of employment we figure benefits are worth about 23% above salary.

I keep checking the weather for my flights -- flying to Chicago tonight, connecting through Detroit. It looks like the weather should be OK for going there, but possibly not for coming back on Friday. But if I'm a day or two late coming back, it'll be OK.
I hear that next week we'll have temps in the 30s!
