Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ha HA! I've been working on this one document for weeks, with millions of rounds of feedback from hundreds of people at increasingly high levels of the organization. Finally it is done! There is one person I need sign-off from, but the one I was most worried about said "congratulations," so I am feeling good. Especially since I was planning to be at this conference we are having for most of the next two days, and then I am on vacation!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

AND I bailed on a work-related event last night, and my officemate tells me this morning that I didn't actually miss much.

Everything's coming up Millhouse!!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Woo, Jesse!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

And THEN I just read this harrowing, beautiful piece of writing by someone I know [link] and am a little shaken up by it, but STILL. The sun is shining and it is a good day.

Ann, that's a ferret.

(now I have Eurythmics running through my head).

Except it's ice and/or snow, not rain, that's coming again.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

I'm supposed to be flying through Atlanta to Lexington KY on Friday - are these storm shenanigans supposed to be gone by then?

Nora, the storm will be done, but the shenanigans will not. It took me 2.5 days to get home from FL 2 weeks ago. I was stranded in Palm Beach for a night, and then Detroit. ATL wasn't even an option at that point. You may want to contact the airline (I'm assuming Delta) and ask if you can reroute yourself through Detroit, though that's not even a guarantee you'll get there when you're supposed to get there.

t /not really here

not your mom's socks.

so if I deleted the heated email I wrote yesterday four times, then wrote a less heated one this morning, then decided not to send it, because nothing will really change, and then the person-relative calls and says "so why haven't you replied to my email?" and I take a deep breath, and say what I have to say calmly, and mention that if they're going to complain about me and HPF to relatives, this time, they might skip cc:ing me and my sister on the note, I still get points for being a good person somehow right? because I should. In this case, I reallyreallyshould.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Meanwhile, I'm giving myself points for not only getting ALL the garbage out this morning before I could hear the trucks, but also for emptying the litter boxes and setting them up fresh!

The rest of the day may be downhill from here.

Because books.

Peaking too early is problematic, it's true.

Sox, you should get many, many points, for sure.
