Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I was just excited I finally figured out that was Mr. Pamuk in the Divergent trailer.
After another hour or so of scraping the walls, am exhausted. Also I think one of the walls I didn't do is about to come down, so we may end up bringing in the pros anyway. And by "we," I mean my mother.
I pulled the last of the copper pipe I couldn't get last time. And got ancient dust in my eyes.
Pumpkin is a heat fiend. She's not only tucked tight against the gap between the radiator enclosure and the wall (enclosure is designed to direct air more into the room rather than straight up, but in the wall gap, it rises) she's got all four pads tucked into the gap, one front leg fully in. She'd make an effective draft-stopper, as tiny as she it.
I loved divergent. I thought insurgent was even stronger. I haven't read the third, it is currently staring at me
Timelies all!
Ended up going to the library yesterday. It's not that I'm out of books here, it's that I've been looking at the TBR bookcase and going 'meh".
The apple pie cake is seriously dangerous. As in, I could eat the whole thing right now. So good! And aside from peeling/slicing the apples, which is just tedious, so easy!
Jesse's mention of Mr. Pamuk reminds me I have to watch last week's Downton Abbey before tonight. Bad fan.
I need to just accept that when I have nothing big planned for the day, except optional stuff, get-to-the-pool-first-thing is just NOT going to happen. I'll go at my usual time. Multiple failed wakeups starting at 5 am don't help either. Interspersed with ikea-hack dreams that got seriously creepy. Uhg.
So I'll just go buy icyhot (not icthyot, Kat) and juice.
It's Restaurant Week, but I think this year my desire to stick to my diet and not spend money is going to win out over the urge to support my local restaurants. It's a close competition. Especially since the Italian/Mediterranean place over by the grocery store seems to have closed - I really liked it but every time I ate there it was mostly empty. Such a shame.

Agreed on all counts.
I went to a local vintage sale thing and had lunch with a friend, which was nice. I bought a couple of barrettes, which is good since I'm growing out my bangs.
Yay for Restaurant Week! We have reservations for a restaurant in Jack London Square tonight: 3 courses and a glass of wine for $30. And it's one of the few participating restaurants that gives you a choice of courses--a lot of the restaurants have a menu with no options. Easier for them, but it makes it less fun if one of the courses is something I don't eat (like olives).
I might have to go out for lunch this week as well, since I have the time (if not really the cash)...
Okay, I seem to have missed the link to the apple pie cake. Can someone fix me up?
