Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Ended up going to the library yesterday. It's not that I'm out of books here, it's that I've been looking at the TBR bookcase and going 'meh".

Because books.

The apple pie cake is seriously dangerous. As in, I could eat the whole thing right now. So good! And aside from peeling/slicing the apples, which is just tedious, so easy!

Jesse's mention of Mr. Pamuk reminds me I have to watch last week's Downton Abbey before tonight. Bad fan.

I need to just accept that when I have nothing big planned for the day, except optional stuff, get-to-the-pool-first-thing is just NOT going to happen. I'll go at my usual time. Multiple failed wakeups starting at 5 am don't help either. Interspersed with ikea-hack dreams that got seriously creepy. Uhg.

So I'll just go buy icyhot (not icthyot, Kat) and juice.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

It's Restaurant Week, but I think this year my desire to stick to my diet and not spend money is going to win out over the urge to support my local restaurants. It's a close competition. Especially since the Italian/Mediterranean place over by the grocery store seems to have closed - I really liked it but every time I ate there it was mostly empty. Such a shame.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Agreed on all counts.

I went to a local vintage sale thing and had lunch with a friend, which was nice. I bought a couple of barrettes, which is good since I'm growing out my bangs.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Yay for Restaurant Week! We have reservations for a restaurant in Jack London Square tonight: 3 courses and a glass of wine for $30. And it's one of the few participating restaurants that gives you a choice of courses--a lot of the restaurants have a menu with no options. Easier for them, but it makes it less fun if one of the courses is something I don't eat (like olives).

I might have to go out for lunch this week as well, since I have the time (if not really the cash)...

Okay, I seem to have missed the link to the apple pie cake. Can someone fix me up?

In looking at the stuff for sale at this vintage market, I was thinking it would be perfect for getting rid of some of the rest of my grandmother's stuff, but come to find out, you have to sign up for four weeks to be a vendor (they are every week in the summer), and we don't have that much stuff (or interest in doing it!). Ah well. It's a pain in the ass, because so much of the stuff that is left is mid-level vintage-y. Like multiple pairs of gloves that I saw someone selling for $8-$10 today. Or random china, not a set. Cute wood kitchen canisters that I bet I could get $25 for. A hassle to eBay, but not good for a yard sale.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Jesse, maybe one of the other vendors who is signed up for the vintage market would be interested in purchasing some of your grandmother's things to re-sell there.

Oh, that's a good idea, sj!
