Jayne (Husband): Oh, I think you might wanna reconsider that last part. See, I married me a powerful ugly creature. Mal (Wife): How can you say that? How can you shame me in front of new people? Jayne (Husband): If I could make you purtier, I would. Mal (Wife): You are not the man I met a year ago.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Thrive to spite them

Calli that's really cool.

It's not a certificate class so I won't lose any money from it. I'm trying not to be too intimidated by it.

Our wings are not tired

I'm on a waiting list to get a parking tag for a closer garage. I've been on the waiting list for a year.

When I went to grad school there the parking was crazy, it's a bit better now. There was a 7 year waiting list to get into the old parking garage that was where the music school was located. I was going to be there for 2 years for grad school. I just got a lot of parking tickets.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I work at a good sized university. One of my coworkers use to bike to work, but she recently moved 20 miles away to live with her fiancé, making that difficult. So she went to get a parking permit. Evidently she can't get a permit for a lot under a mile away. And they want to charge her an ungodly amount for it. How does paying for the privilege of coming to work make sense?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Have fun on your date, Hil! That sucks about the parking and work situation; unfortunately it sounds like they aren't taking your needs very seriously.

askye, I hope you enjoy your class!

sj, I'm sorry you feel so bad today. Wish I could figure out, myself, why some days are so bad for no apparent reason.

When I worked at Rutgers, I had to park way far away and walk through construction zones to get to work. At the interview, I was told I would have assigned parking and it was heavily implied that would be in the parking garage next door to my building. But then, they lied to me about a lot of things, including my salary.

Well, I haven't really tried to get anything done specifically for accessibility -- to park in the disabled spaces on campus, you need both a state disabled tag and a university disabled tag, but you can't get the university one unless you have the state one, and you can't get the state one without a note from a doctor, and I couldn't get an appointment with the doctor until December, and, well. The distance from the garage to my office is about a five-minute walk on a day when I'm feeling OK, so I'm mostly fine with it, but on days when I'm hurting, it feels like a lot.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Seems like it would be worth pursuing, Hil.

Hil, the primary care you've been seeing won't fill out the forms for a handicap plate for you? I got mine through my primary and it was a really quick and easy form.

I haven't asked. I just assumed not. I didn't have a handicap plate in PA, but I think I'm starting to need one.

It's probably worth at least asking. December is a long time away.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

First therapy appointment in less than 8 hours (which is too damn early for me). (Yeah, 3 years of working from home has ruined me for normal human hours. I admit it.)
