I may not have. One of the offices is in LA and I said I'd work anywhere when I took the exam because you don't even find out about the openings unless you're available for them. As it turns out, four of the positions are in LA and the fifth "will be located in either Los Angeles, Sacramento, or San Francisco", so I will need to give that option some thought.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I've been looking at my options for just moving within my basic area as I think I'm going to need to move when my lease is up next year. The question at this point is do I move into another apartment in my same complex or move elsewhere? This complex has been perfect for CJ to walk wherever he needs to go, other than ARP stuff. But he will have his license in July so we don't HAVE to stay as close. But whatever I do will be fairly short term cause my current long term thought is to move into a loft indowntown Denver near the baseball stadium. Two moves over the next 4 years-ish? Blarg.
I'm sad (obviously), but also feel oddly relieved now that the worst is over and I no longer have to watch him deteriorating.
This was why I had such a complete sobfest on my vet that day. I was really, really afraid that I was making the decision for *my* relief, because it was so,goddamned.hard watching her get sloooooooowwly worse, and I was a little not-really-postTS. And I had to say that out loud, because I needed someone outside my head to parse all that.
I applied for a car loan through AAA (PenFed, Maria!) Hope I didn't screw that up any. It'll be under 200/mo, 1.74 apr. I doubt any dealer can beat that, but we'll see. I'm leery of driving anywhere other than work. I think that seals the deal.
Sleeping on the refi. I can amoratize or whatever so I don't lose the past 4 yrs of the term and it's only $50/month. Depends on the appraisal. Which, even if we go with only a modest increase in value (I added $7.5K worth of deck! Yard! Trimmed bushes!) it still saves me around $1200 per year and it'd pay off the appraisal in 4 months. I think I can take that. As long as the appraisal doesn't come in low.
Try 2 of the car tomorrow.
There's a massive thunderhead flashing off to the west.
I think I'm going tohave a lie down. I am SO DONE WITH BEING A GROWNUP AND I'M SURE I'M SCREWING IT UP.
Ooh, loft downtown is an exciting idea! Moving is a pain, no doubt about that.
Did I mention that the low-end of the salary for these positions is about twice what I'm making now? As well as the actual work using my education and being, for lack of a better word, righteous (in my ethical system, anyway). Probably worth figuring out how I could manage a move.
Your grownup-ness looks pretty impressive from over here, sarameg.
But whatever I do will be fairly short term cause my current long term thought is to move into a loft indowntown Denver near the baseball stadium.
I ADORE THIS IDEAR. #approve
Sara, I am about to start the refi process. I am getting bombarded with offers and don't know whom to choose. Lisa is sending me the name of her "mostly email" loan dude, but I am interested in who others here have used (if the experience was good).
And it sounds like you're getting some good financing. I think that's the rate I am paying for my Forester. I can't recall what you chose - is it a Mazda 3?
I will cheerfully advise AGAINST Bank of America for any mortgage-related stuff. They've been a giant pain in our asses twice now.
Well fuck. Jury summons. For the record, I blame you people.
Frankly I wouldn't mind - i believe in the jury system! - except that of course it's the day I'm supposed to fly to Atlanta.
Dana, my mortgage is currently with Wells, which I think is the evil twin of BoA, right?
I don't know -- for us, it's because they own Merrill Lynch. We had Wells Fargo two houses ago, and I don't remember them being quite so useless as BOA.
