And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Also, before he goes to college, can you make sure he understands the difference between an envelope and a folder?

Bwahahaha!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The envelope/folder thing is because they literally haven't done enough with paper, right?

What's fun about the Good Stuff is that over the past couple of days, we've gotten a bunch of new followers because of the "dads sing Little Mermaid" video I put up literally six months ago.

I think? It has been happening for 10 years at least. Today I had a project which included cutting the tab off a manila folder and inserting it in a manila envelope, and it caused mass confusion,

Weird! Although I guess I've seen a lot of weird things from kids in their first office jobs. There is so much they don't know! I realize this is surprising to me because I was "temping" in my parents' offices from the time I was old enough to collate.

I used to pretend I was a secretary, so I really got a lot of "training" because I read all sorts of secretaries' handbooks. I theoretically also know how to use a dictaphone and send telegrams. Unfortunately, I learned to how to be a secretary from the '50's, but I do know my office supplies.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Heh. Television from the 1960s made me think all offices had a bar.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

And that he knows to look up from his cell phone before stepping into the street? Although, by the time he's in college, all the equipment for whatever kids those days use for communication will probably be embedded into their brains or something. (And possibly Brooklyn kids are better at this. The kids at my university are largely rural and suburban, and seem to have no idea that they're supposed to look before crossing the street.)

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

msbelle, I appreciate the checking in. I didn't think it was nearby, but I also wasn't sure if you'd be down/upwind from all that crap either.

One of our dojo kids moved to the Waco area a year ago (she still has a massive crush on CJ). I logged into CJ's FB this morning to see if she had checked in and was happy to see a post from her.

It is time to lay off on the tragedies world. I know "no one dies today" isn't possible but can we at least aim for that?
