I doubt I could even finish it, and walking when a bunch of other people are running would make me feel like doo-doo.
Really? I can't run for shit, even after doing 13 races and working out and so on (sure, not CONSISTENTLY, but still--more than about 5 minutes and I have to stop), but walking for less than an hour wasn't impossible. But I guess you could work up to it. And unless it's specified as not, there's always people walking--some races allow dogs and strollers, so those DEFINITELY have some folks who are just ambling along (...although there's also that obnoxious mom who runs the whole thing with two kids in a racing stroller and beats me by like, 15 minutes, but whatever).
Ah, my flight has been delayed twice and it's still a few hours until it leaves. I suspect they are softening us up for cancellation. I don't think I can handle being stuck here overnight. I had about 2 hours sleep last night and I feel so crappy.
Oh, Sue. I hope you're not cancelled! I wish I could offer you a place to stay, and I totally would if we weren't at my mom and dad's right now. There is literally no room left at the inn.
My experience has been much like meara's. Except mom with double stroller is guy running while juggling. No shame in walking!!
Oh man, I hope you make it home, Sue!
I've never run a 5K, but at the ones I've volunteered at, the mom with the double jogging stroller/man juggling is always a 10 year old kid. Goddamn kids and their energy.
But the thing I came to post was that my therapist does this walk/talk thing through this gorgeous park up in Denver. I always loved sipping tea in her office but the walking/talking thing has been really great. I don't go every week anymore, but just maybe once every 2-3 months and I love it.
So you spend your hour of therapy walking through the park instead of sitting in an office? Holy shit, that is such a fantastic idea! (And that therapist must be in fabulous shape!)
Hm, okay, I didn't know any of that, about 5ks. Also, pardon my ignorance and my refusal to Google, but how long is a 5k? Perhaps it isn't as long as I think it is, if one can walk it in less than an hour.
Where will your new apartment be, Amy? Exciting!!
5 kilometers = 3.125 miles, which to me is not a bad walk but not a distance I could jog, let alone run.
