My experience has been much like meara's. Except mom with double stroller is guy running while juggling. No shame in walking!!

Oh man, I hope you make it home, Sue!
I've never run a 5K, but at the ones I've volunteered at, the mom with the double jogging stroller/man juggling is always a 10 year old kid. Goddamn kids and their energy.
But the thing I came to post was that my therapist does this walk/talk thing through this gorgeous park up in Denver. I always loved sipping tea in her office but the walking/talking thing has been really great. I don't go every week anymore, but just maybe once every 2-3 months and I love it.
So you spend your hour of therapy walking through the park instead of sitting in an office? Holy shit, that is such a fantastic idea! (And that therapist must be in fabulous shape!)
Hm, okay, I didn't know any of that, about 5ks. Also, pardon my ignorance and my refusal to Google, but how long is a 5k? Perhaps it isn't as long as I think it is, if one can walk it in less than an hour.
Where will your new apartment be, Amy? Exciting!!
5 kilometers = 3.125 miles, which to me is not a bad walk but not a distance I could jog, let alone run.
how long is a 5k
3 miles.
3 miles
Oh! Well, then. My experience being dragged around England tells me that I can walk 3 miles, though I may be in pain at the end of it. Run, though, no freaking way.
Hm. I *could*.
Hm.
Yeah, especially if you can find a friend willing to walk it with you, it's totally a nice hour long walk, if you pick the right 5k it can be pretty and scenic, too!
