People say they are flossing. they are not flossing.
I am like the Oatmeal regarding flossing as well, but I have found that switching to an electric toothbrush has helped a lot-- my gums are much better after a cleaning!
I am really frustrated-- I finally saw the dermatologist yesterday and he thinks that I had a fungal infection and then an ID reaction. Next time, he wants me to treat the fungal infection. Except that is what I did, and the treatment seemed to cause the "ID reaction". I feel like he thinks it is a fungal infection because I am fat and have skin folds. They scraped my remaining rash, and there was no sign of fungus. And the rash migrated to my skin folds, not from my skin folds. And now my ears are super-itchy again!
I did get a prescription for a steroid cream, so that is good. And they put a note in my file to get me right in the next time it happens so that they can see it.
I've been having an inordinate amount of stress about this whole cracked-tooth-needs-to-be-pulled-and-replaced-by-a-cyborg-implant situation. Stress that it has to happen at all, stress about the cost, lots of self-hatred for not taking care of myself to the point where I am losing a tooth, and befuddlement and angst about why in the FUCK a grown-ass adult wouldn't take care of herself.
Well, I never did get mine replaced, so at least you're still classier than me!
This is tooth #2 that requires pulling. The first one was maybe 2 years ago, and was the very last molar on the bottom right. I didn't replace that one. I'm replacing this one because it's between teeth and I feel like I need a tooth there for good chewing and whatnot.
I also (as the stepdaughter of a good dentist) really recommend an electric toothbrush if you don't floss and can stand the sensation (I can't). mr. flea uses one and is the shining start of every dentist appointment, although he does not floss. Sonicares are good quality, reasonably priced and last well; they have them at Target.
Oh thank goodness. I got this crazy notice from my current landlord about the moveout procedures for 9/1.... except of course I'm moving now and not 9/1. It also has all this shit about inspections and cleaning and bullshit, but I say fuckem. I'm not expecting a security deposit back anyway, so I am certainly not mopping after I move out. Anyway, the guy in the office said it was just a mistake about 9/1, and I'm good to go. In short: fuck them.
Now to sign my new lease.
Skipping and poking head because, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is Shir's birthday.
Happy birthday, Shir! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!
Also, IIRC, it's Sheryl and her DH's anniversary, so lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year together to the both of them!
I am in a good mood today. please mark your calendars.
Good lord, grown women in another section of my office are saying "Oh, you didn't wear a skirt! Everyone but me was wearing a skirt, and I was all worried!" Now they're discussing leg shaving.
It's good you all are talking about the dentist. I haven't been in three years due to an insurance snafu, and I really need to do that. It's just so hard to find a good dentist who take my crappy DHMO plan.
Happy Birthday, Shir!
Happy Anniversary, Sheryl and DH!
I have just been given a "list all the applications that..." task, and I have no freaking idea where to start or who to ask. Problem is, I know who not to ask, and that's a bit intimidating.
