Uh, it doesn't sound odd at all. It sounds like a something that makes life a lot easier. Hello, you have all these single people without kids seriously wishing for the same!
Oooh, bright lightning again...

msbelle, it just depends. I would want help not because I mind doing the things I have listed, but because I have limited time to do them.
We got a call from the new school district's nursing department today. For Grace, instead of giving us a health aide, the district will pay our current nursing provider for the hours when Grace is in school. Which means, AWESOME, someone who knows what they are doing -- an LVN and not just some district fool.
Well, ultimately, that IS the problem, isn't it? Not enough hours in the day for the life we'd like to live, given our priorities and needs.
And here comes round two of the storms. I'm getting quite good at being an amateur meteorologist, at least with regards to looking at the radar and guesstimating when it will hit. At least once it is this side of the 'mountains' they call the Appalachians.
My priority is apparently watching ALL OF THE TEEVEE.

They are mountains. They're just old and tired mountains.
I can't think of anything that could be called housework that I like to do.
What kind of lettuce should one use for a lettuce wrap and how does one go about using lettuce as a wrap? The attempt I just made was tasty but very, very messy.
Anything with a big flat leaf?
You guys, literally 17K notes on that post.
Romain, left on the counter for a bit? I know iceberg is used for some thai stuff, but I think it sucks.
Butter lettuce, or Boston (possibly those are the same thing), or green leaf lettuce are what I would try.

Mess is inevitable, I think. I'd maybe use magenta or butter lettuce, mostly because I get it in my CSA box but also because they have strong leaves and a crisp heart. I recommend small portions of whatever the filling is, because the leaf holds up better and there's less mess when structural integrity fails.
