We won't mention meconium then.

I know that pregnant women can retain water - swollen legs, etc. I once worked with a woman who did - she was miserable, and swollen. Also went to 10 months. A week after giving birth, she'd lost all the water weight and was close to her pre-pregnancy size.
So ... good news/bad news.
I am so happy I have never been pregnant. I think it would only be worth it if I gave birth to a baby sloth. And perhaps not even then.
you know how people who love to hear the sound of their voice, explain things in the most convoluted way and do it loudly? Yeah, that.
My work to do list is back and front of my notepad and half those things I need an answer from someone else on. Every task I start on hits a wall.

wrod wrod wrod. I don't have that kind of courage. All you other brave souls can experience the miracle of nature for me.
I have a list of policies and procedures I have to read (after doing the whole company list, now I have to do a new list for the project I'm on). The person in charge emailed me yesterday and said "here's the list and the link to them, you should be able to do them tomorrow, I'll be out, let me know so I can plan the stuff that comes after that". OK, fine. I looked at it and it didn't look too terrible, I did some, and then emailed her and said I should be done today no problem.
And then I looked closer and realized a HUGE FOUR PAGE LIST she had left off, is required and there's no way I can do it all today!! (Especially since first I have to hunt some of them down and they all have crazy long numerical names and version numbers and I have to make sure I have the right one...)

Oh yeah. Every new thing I learn about pregnancy makes me more certain I was right not do it. Although I think pregnancy would be interesting, at least, just for the weirdness of the experience. It's parenthood that really scares me. Those terrifying, exhausting 21+ years after the pregnancy is over.
msbelle, sit ups are good, especially crunches. Push ups and squats are also good. I'd say if you combine those three you will cover a good portion of the basics. And getting in shape will do much to alter your shape, even if it doesn't bring down your weight.
Walking is just as good as running, too, msbelle. Unless you like to run, in which case, go you.
Pregnancy seems like a long, long time ago.
Push ups and squats are also good.
Squats are very good for making your quads and bottom more toned.
I am a wimp and avoid push-ups. (I'm still dealing with Monday's delayed-onset muscle soreness from bicep curls, and that's bad enough. I don't want push-up pain.)
