I'm supposed to deliver you to the Master now. There's this whole deal where I get to be immortal. Are you cool with that?

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I wanted garlic bread all day today. Enough to where I almost walked to the little general store to get some sourdough, when I remembered that I also didn't have garlic or butter. This whole no-grocering-post-vacation thing sucks.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I made TJ's salmon burgers with lots of garlic and butter and lemon. We had them on toasted English muffins with remoulade and tomato - YUM!

Anyway: garlic, lemon and butter 4EVAH!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

oh, liese,I'm sorry. If you were closer, I'd give you both butter and garlic (and shredded asiago to go on top).

We got fennel in our farm box. I roasted a pork tenderloin with onion and fennel with an apricot glaze. NOM.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Thai delivery. I accidentally ordered something with crispy noodles. The chicken curry part of it is tasty, but no crispy for me. Hmmph.

I will have to drown my tears in some French vanilla ice cream.

Looks like the gawker network is moving over to requiring a Twitter, FB, or Google account before you can post there, even for their legacy accounts. I have a Google account already dedicated to that persona, so it's no big for me, but the principle does rankle. Even now, when it looks like you need FB or Twitter to sign up, there is a loophole. Bye bye loophole.

At the same time, Denton says he's trying to encourage driveby commenters, so he can get celebs posting anon and shit. I haven't seen any explanations for how he intends to reconsile those urges. But good luck with that, Nick. You seem determined to do things a crazily loyal userbase hates. *So* determined. They/we do have a breaking point.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

That seems less than mixy. And always fun to try to enforce things that your users loathe. I'll never comment there because I don't have a throwaway identity for it. I'll fake an email for some things but a fake FB is way too much investment for me. I don't even really like my actual FB.

Yay on the timely and much-needed good news, Maria!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I would totally wind a piece of string around my rock.

Not ONE response to this? Honestly, I go offline for one evening and it's like I don't even know you people anymore. EVERYBODY WANTS A ROCK TO WIND A PIECE OF STRING AROUND. There, I feel better now.

Except that my cable and internets are still out at home. Cablevision said the outage would be fixed by midnight (last night.) They lied.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I would totally wind a piece of string around my rock.

I meant to respond to this and forgot! What the heck does this MEAN?

Ann, that's a ferret.

Also, it looks like US Bank (their regulator) is the OCC.

Sort of. Last summer, some of the responsibliity (including RESPA issues) over very large banks (U.S. Bank qualifies) got transferred to the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. So the CFPB may be the person to talk to.

The good news is, because so many agencies are involved in supervising banks, thrifts, credit unions, etc., the consumer complaint sections of the agencies have become very good at transferring complaints that have been sent to the wrong agency. So don't worry too much if you send to the wrong agency -- it'll get sorted out.
