Are we still doing onerous task day?
If need be!

My onerous task will be working; I don't wanna. But...suck it up, bitca! Right?!
So: clean off desk and file, Swiffer office floor, do blog and video planning for February, and do personal and business finanacials stuff today.
Yes, if we get the house I am going to have a huge list of onerous tasks.
Also, why am I checking my e-mail obsessively when I know the offer isn't even being presented until 3?
Yeah, I was expecting my teleconference that started at 9AM to last for two hours as planned, and figured I would half listen, and half get shit done (somehow that usually works pretty well for me, if I'm doing shit like expense reports, that doesn't take a whole brain).
But it only lasted 45 minutes, and now I have to buckle down and I dont' WANNA.
I quit being a grown up. This is my notice.
So I found out that my position *is* being eliminated. I have enough seniority that I will probably get another placement possibly even in my same school. Everything would stay the same, I would just change classrooms, essentially. And I would actually be assigned to a student(s) with special needs.
OR.
I can take a voluntary lay-off until probably the fall. No guarantee of job placement in the fall, but I would have recall rights and I would get unemployment. Which would pay me through the summer, but I'd loose our health insurance. Em could totally get covered through the county and she would be fine. I could get treated at PP or the like. I would also, probably, get more money from unemployment than I do working full time.
Blergh.
And on top of it, I forgot my books for school and had to come home. Grr argh.
Blergh, indeed. I hate those kinds of decisions.

I've done that. It sucks.
Is there any way you can take more classes during the layoff, so you could finish school faster, Aimee?
Greetings most wise and noble worshippers of the Green Fairy. I have got a bottle of absinthe for my birthday and I have never even tried it before. Is it very important that my first time be with the traditional sugar cube and ice water drip? If I don't have the proper tools can I use a slotted spoon? Or is that all romantic silliness and I should just pour some over ice? I couldn't even crack the bottle without consulting you guys first.
You must wait for Jilli's ruling, Laga.

At this point, not really. Maybe in the summer. Unless the layoff continued through fall. If they had let me go when the funding ran out for my job LAST FREAKING JUNE, I could have taken more classes last and this semester and I would have knocked an entire semester off my time in school.
