Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Happy anniversary Laura! And Brendon too, of course.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Happy Anniversary Laura and Brendon!

Moar wedding stuff, Teppy! It's been at least 12 hours and I need my fix.

Eloping was definitely the thing for us to do. Despite having had the princess wedding dream all through childhood, when it came to getting married before H left for basic training and and uncertain future, or planning for the six months of his training and getting married before he was assigned, we wanted that time together. So I live vicariously through the details of friends' weddings, yours included.

Dear Tep,

WE ARE YOUR BRIDEZILLA! GIVE US MORE! YOUR WEDDING LIKES CARROTS!

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Tim was slightly nonplussed that I refuse to do a garter toss, but he's fine with it.

We're having an intense cupcakes-vs.-cake debate. (I am pro-cupcake; he is more cake.)

Both! Do a small schmancy cake you can cut, and cupcakes for the eating!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Yes, both!

It's his garter, you should let him toss it! Oh, wait, you meant . . . ;)

I actually DID tell him that if we used one of his garters, I'd consider wearing it and letting him toss it. But it's truly a big no. I'm not fond of that tradition.

Tim's objection to the cupcakes -- at least, that he's told me about -- is that they're messy and drop crumbs because people eat them with their hands rather than on a plate with forks, and that means more for the B&B staff to clean up. I pointed out that our families aren't howler monkeys and will be neat and clean, but he was still dubious.

My objection to cake is that I need something gluten-free, and of the GF bakeries around here, I am not convinced they can make a *pretty* wedding cake. I have had an unbelievably delicious GF cake, but it was decorated for a birthday, which is way different than a wedding cake.

Are cupcakes "pretty"? I'm not sure why I'm okay with them -- the cupcake place I'm looking at DOES use really gorgeous cupcake papers, and the frosting is done really well -- but for some reason I don't need cupcakes to be as lovely as an actual cake. I dunno.

Yeah, I was thinking if you got cupcakes you could have some gluten free and some vegan and some regular, if you so desired.

I am sad--I broke my kindle. By sitting on it. On the plus side, better that than my iPad or phone, and its my last day here so it's not like I'll run out of stuff to read. Though annoyed at myself that this was the ONE DAY I didn't bring a paperback to the beach also, so had to leave Brenda to the cool breezes and head back to the house. Doh.

Why don't you have the groom's cake, and assorted cup cakes?
