Thanks for the info on bamboo. It's going to be a while before I'll ever be able to afford it, so it's pretty moot right now. I might consider Berber, too, even at the expense. I just hate most carpeting, especially with pets. The shorter the pile, the better.
Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Wishing you lots of energy, Ginger.
I'm at the vet. They just finished X-raying Xusha. Looks like she has arthritis in her right elbow, so they're going to give me some tramadol for her. While she was sedated they cleaned out her ears and trimmed her claws, both of which are impossible for me to do at home. Love this vet practice.
Much energy~ma to you, Ginger.
Poor Xusha.
I'm thinking about taking the dog in for grooming just so they'll do her nails. Well, not just. But it's a primary driver.
I also need to ask them about dog sunscreen. She's got a little bald patch right on her butt (okay, her back just above the tail) from where the hair never grew back post surgery. It's kind of funny.
You know I've got to stop following the blog of a certain writer I admire. "Oh damn, you are making the same bad choices that led you into deep financial problems about twenty times before." Well if I would just stick to reading that person's fiction, and ignore them on-line I would not know this.
CC&R's for carpet? Hmmm. When we were in the unit today getting termite inspection, my realtor mentioned there might be one for white window coverings. Ugg. Time to read them. It's a 2" xerox of legal sized paper document, but the top 1/3 of the pages is black, which is clearly some intern took the booklet, and xeroxed/scanned with the legal page settings. Ugg.
ION- got great time in the unit this morning. Brought my mother along. She was the scribe. I had a detailed list of measurements I wanted. Termite dude gave clean bill of health.
Also, got home early, since the Dean let everyone leave early (Graduation). Ate dinner, took 2 ibuprofen, and passed out! Woke up 2 hours later, looked at the clock, and for almost 5 minutes, thought it was 8:40am. The nap felt that good!

If they just need to be white from the outside, there are a lot of brands now that make blinds that are colored on the inside and white on the outside, because so many places are requiring that now. And if you want curtains, most of them are white on the back anyway, but if the ones you like aren't, then either lining them or adding a second set of white curtains behind the decorative ones is pretty simple.
I can't sleep. Don't know why. I feel all antsy. There's no reason for me to feel antsy -- it's summer.
I'm antsy, but I totally know why: it is 1:22 am here, and my board meeting starts at 9:00 am and I am still not done with the prep. Hello, depression, you sure helped with not getting things done this year!
However I only have one more major task to do, plus the printing.
And the first leg of our trip has been really good. The VBS was great! About 35 kids, normally raise about $200-300, raised $900!! for us this week. And then we had some great meetings and/or hangout time with folks in town here. Including a session with a couple of musician friends we have here upon whom we totally vomited emotional content and they were so awesome and sympathetic and helpful. And we kinda had to, because they called us on our "we're totally fine!" bullshit. Those are good friends to have.
So it's good. I just need to finish up this last bit, which I think will be financial good news when I get it done, and I can crash.
Okay, finished. Now sleep as quickly as possible so as to be vertical during critical moments in tomorrow's big meetings, presentations, and subsequent barbecue.
Sleeeeeeeeeep.
