Actually not needing validation right now, but thank you.

Spike's Bitches 47: Someone Dangerous Could Get In

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Laura, I was wearing regular sneakers in about three months. The healing process was much easier than I had been led to expect. YMMV, of course. I did find that sitting for long periods of time (like, more than five minutes) was extremely uncomfortable for a few months.

But, um, keeping the leg completely immobile and always elevated can lead to a blood clot. I mean, don't panic or anything, just, like, move the leg around a bit. Wiggle your toes, flex your foot, raise and lower your leg, whatever you can do with a cast on to keep the blood flowing.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh yeah, although it is elevated I am restless and constantly moving it around, playing with my toes to keep them from being so numb, etc. Also, since I have tiny bladder I have to get myself onto my rolly chair and into the bathroom and back about a zillion times a day. I get the cast Tuesday when they remove the sutures. Not really looking forward to that. But I should be released to walk on it a bit then, so that will be nice.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Laura, I hope your recovery is quicker than expected, and yay shower!

BT, I am not at all surprised that Ryan charms people wherever he goes. He is ridiculously charming in still photography, and I can't imagine how adorable he is in person. I'm also impressed at how good he was on those long flights; I doubt I would have been as good.

We are going out to breakfast and then we might actually get some unpacking done. I have been useless getting stuff done this week because somewhere along the line I aggravated an old arm injury.

Thanks for the info on bunions. I don't think mine are that bad, but it does hinder me from wearing the high heels I really would like to wear for fancy dress. Even a half an inch with insufficient padding in the toe area leaves me limping in 15 minutes. I pretty much stick to athletic shoes anymore, and that's been going on over the past 15 years. It doesn't stop me from doing what I want, but I'd just like to be able to wear regular shoes anytime I want.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Oh! That reminds me, we had some photos done for his third birthday: [link]

Ridiculous cuteness!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Why do teenagers need to be such fucking assholes?

In non-asshole teenagery news, Emmett just woke up and came into the kitchen.

Me: Are you hungry?
Emmett: Yeah.
Me: You want pancakes?
Emmett: Yeah. Can I make them?

So he and Matilda are happily working together making pancakes for us this morning.

PSSST.. Laura is nekkid; pass it on!

My plans today involve cleaning some junk out of the back yard, calling the lawn guy, laundry, getting a new debit card at the bank, seeing Avengers at 4:30 and then going to out friends' house WAAAAY out south and BBQing, drinking a little drink around their new firepit and watching the hugenormous moon.

Tomorrow is Clean All The Things day. And Monday is Getcha Ass Back Into the Work Groove, Bitca! day.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Ryan pictures!!! They always make my day.

Super yay. That's a very sweet image.

Swift healing, Laura.

I skipped the walk because my hip was hurting badly. Stretched everything for about an hour and got the pain down to a dull ache. Went to Doggies and Donuts, and it was one of those mornings where all the dogs are just totally crazy. There are two that bark all the time, and they get all the other little dogs riled up. Frankie barked more this morning than I'd heard him do in a month, WTF. He snapped at a couple of dogs (they deserved it) and nearly jumped up begging on an old lady with a donut! Clearly I did not walk him enough this week.

Now I'm back home. Need to stretch more, do the dishes, prep the package and go mail it, and then bike out to Jazzfest. Here's hoping there's no more rain today.

We're listening to the Ramones and Matilda is "smacking Emmett's tushy" to the beat while he stirs the batter.
